Ok, so I just got it and plugged everything in, but the cursor from the Wii mote is really jerky. I changed the sensitivity and tried moving closer but it didn't really help it at all. The sensor bar is below the TV on the little stand it comes with too. This is really annoying. Anyone have a solution to this?

Have a light source near the sensor bar?

Open window, Gram Gram's favorite lamp?

it might be too high in the air on top of your TV if you sit down while playing that can mess up the signal from that height differential! and then if you are far back that can make the receiver box slim down

Have you told the Wii that the sensor bar is below the TV in the system settings?

Yeah like ^^ said make sure you have set to "Below TV" in the Wii's settings. Otherwise make sure that there's not a reflective surface under the sensor bar. Finally try going to the sensitivity adjustment and you can see the IR light sources. The 2 next to each other that are the most consistent are probable your sensor bar, other ones are either reflections or IR sources you need to cover up.

Try moving farther. If you're too close it won't work.

Ok all of my settings are correct and I did change the sensitivity. It has two dots next to eachother that blink about every second. All the others were more erratic. There isn't a lamp next to the sensor bar but there is a window. However, I tried playing it in the dark and it was still jerky. So, I have no clue what the deal is...

Go to settings and put the sensitivity higher.

Are you talking about during game play or just in the Wii menu? I find that my remote works perfectly during game play, but it is far less accurate in the Wii menu. It moves from side to side and up and down fine enough and gets the job done, but if you try to do fine, delicate type movements, it is not very good. However, it does not need to be in the menu. If you are not experiencing problems in game play, this might be normal.

If you have problems with game play, is it will all games or just some? Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote? You may need to get a new sensor bar if yours is not working well. If you have more than one remote, do you see the same issue with both remotes? If you have a friend with a Wii, try using your remote on their system and vice versa. Lots of things for you to try. Hope this helps.

Make sure that the sensor bar is near the edge of the surface it's on. When it is fully exposed, it should work properly. That's what happens with mine when I'm at my parents' house. Their tv is different, and I have to put the bar on top of the tv. If it's not fully exposed, then I get jerkiness.

If it's next to the window and the window isn't covered then at night it could be working like a mirror

Cover it and see what happens
