Just got my Mario Red DS lite (Pics)

Hey guys, I just picked up the brand new Mario Red Ds Lite this morning, as my White launch DS Lite has a severe case of the faulty hinge problem, which Nintendo has stopped fixing for free. It would have been 85$ for a repair. Anyways, I wanted a DS that still had a GBA slot, reason being why I didn't hold out for the DSi. Here's a few pics of what it looks like out of the box.

Looks nice. But jeez, that color red is so vibrant that it blinds you lol.

Best DS in my opinion.

Although I should be happy and content with my purchase from yesterday, I'm having a hard time trying to ignore the dust that is underneath the touch screen. While normally I would be able to just ignore it, the few particles there all happen to be right around the same spot. Over the next few days I will be debating as to whether or not I will be calling up Nintendo for a repair, as playing games in the daylight make the flaw very noticable. Back when I got the Gameboy Advance SP2 (the units with the improved brighter screen), I had the same problem. The dust eventually went away after a year or so, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to take te chance with this unit, as I plan on having it for a very long time. It kind of sucks, especially since I'm trying to play through Chrono, but I may have to play it on my busted white DS Lite for the time beig until the problem is fixed...

Maybe it's the lighting in the first 2 pics, but I don't like the look much.EuroMafia

I really like the Mario Red, IMO looks better than regular black.

It looks really awesome. I love that color -- loved it on the Phat -- but I'm not crazy about the Mario emblem or whatever. I've got a perfectly fine black Lite that will keep me occupied for quite some time -- I doubt I'll even get the DSi. bluej33

From the looks of your sig, i wouldn't think you'd have a problem with bright systems. :P

Same here... I like my light blue. The solid red DSlite looks like something Playskool might have made, no offense TC. I think it would have been better as part of the sparkly metallic line of DSes, and with a deeper shade of red.
