Okay, so I was just wondering if it was possible to turn off the Wii Remote without having to turn off the system. Thanks :)

it should turn itself off if the wii is off

you just gotta wait a minute

or if you are talking about a second remote on while playing a wii it should turn off itself as well when it is not in use

Ok, i love responding to these questions.

It is a remote, in essence, just like any other remote in your house for the tv or stereo. if you do not use it, then it isn't consuming any power. There isn't an on/off switch or button on it, just liek there isn't on any other remote out there. As soon as you turn the wii off or even if the remote is just sitting there and you turned on the wii on the console itself, you're done and there is nothing else to do or worry about. Now if you use rechargeables in it, then maybe, just maybe, over time(you dont use the remote for days and weeks) it will lose some of the battery power, but that is it.

Ok, I was just wondering if there was any other way besides that to turn it off. Also can you switch what player you are? Like say you're player 2 but want to be player 1.

When you turn off the Wii with the remote, the remote should also turn off at the same time.

I can't believe no one can answer this. Yes, you can do that. Press the home key, and then click on "Wii Remote Settings". In that menu there is an option called "Reconnect". Select that, and all of your remotes will turn off. Then you just reactivate the ones you need. And don't let them tell you that it isn't consuming power when you're not using it. It does turn off after a while, but it's pretty common sense that if there is a light lit up on it...it's consuming power.

Press the home botton on the remote and click where the remote drawing is, like at the buttom. Then click "change order" or something like that. Then it's telling you what to do.

Lets get some things straight right here. if the wii is on, then any remote with batteries in it will have that blue led light on. Sure. But how long will it be on? Not long enough to be an issue. So, it really isnt goign to consume any 'power' if its just sitting there doing nothing and the buttons aren't being pressed. Plus, you know how much power it would consume to light that little blue led light? Pretty much zilch. And when the wii is off, it def isnt using any power from the batteries.

So, basically, if any one, including the tc, is that worried abotu it, then take the batteries out so that they are sure that no power is sucked out of the wiimote while the wii is on.

I don't think this has been mentioned, but if you just leave the Wii alone for a couple minutes, the controller will completely disconnect.  The blue light will turn off and everything.  If you are in the middle of a game or something the game will just pause until you hit A to reconnect.

As for what player you are, there is no real way to change that.  The player number is determined by when you sync your controller.  So it assigns the normal order to the controler itself.  If you want to be player one you have to switch remotes with the person who is player one.

ok.... first of all, you're wrong.  when the wii is on not all controllers with batteries have the blue led light on.  you have to press a button on any controller to actually turn it on, and then the blue light comes on.  also it takes power to keep that blue led light on when a controller is not in use. it's stupid to not have a simple way to turn that light off.  it's also not like a remote that controls the tv.  i don't know about you but my tv remote doesn't have an LED light on to symbolize when the tv is on and the remote is connected to it
