When you are going to bed/going out ect, are you meant to put the light to yellow or red (the light near the disk slot)? When I went on holidays for about a week, I kept it with the yellow light on and when I came back it was almost sizzling! Please help me!

The yellow light means that it is on Wii Connect 24. That means that its connected to the internet 24/7, allowing you to recieve messages from nintendo and others.

If its on the Red light it means the system is off, meaning it wont 'heat up'.

Its best to turn it off fully (red light) if your going on trips and at night. I usually leave mine on Wii Connect 24 (Yellow Light) if im too lazy to turn it off (red light)

Also to turn it off to the red light you just hold the power button on the Wii for 5 Seconds.

If it's sizzling you have a defective Wii and get it replaced as soon as possible.

If it's warm then understand that all electrical devices stay on and you just don'ty notice it because they have more padding. Unlike the Wii.

The yellow light means you're let the WiiConnect24 connected. It's in stand-by. You can receive messages and the huge blue light on the disc driver appears. The red light one is when you completely turns off the Wii.

As for the sizzling, I really don't know.

I usually leave mine on but if I'm going a way for more than 2 days I'll turn it off. If it was sizzling you might want to check out some of your games to see if your wii overheated. If it did overheat you will see a lot of pixels that stay one colour almost in a grid.

Yellow means it's on stand-by mode. It's fine to leave it in this mode. But don't leave it there for more than a few days, especially if its in a hot place or has very little ventilation. There is a slight chance of it overheating since the fan is not running in standby mode.

Sizzling? Can you cook an egg on it? :o

It's not supposed to get that hot. Maybe you have a defective Wii or you have it placed in an unsuitable area. I leave WiiConnect24 on everyday since January and my Wii is fine.
