And I'm worried how bad my Wii is going to look on it. It's a 47" 1080P LCD. Is it going to look bad? Any tips or suggestons what settings i should set it on?
Buy component cables. Go to the Wii Settings and set it to 480p and Widescreen. Turn Burn-in Reduction On. If it still looks pretty bad then you will have to mess around with the HDTV's settings a little bit. Set the colours, backlight to a reasonable setting- not too distorted or vivid where it will burn out your eyes. Turning down the sharpness also helps. Do not set it to the max. Preferably to 0.
Super Mario Galaxy looks awesome on a HDTV, many other Wii titles, however, do not fair as favorably. If it has a nice clean look already (SMG, Okami, Metroid, Smash, Trauma Center, Z&W) it will fair well. I played NMH on my father's HDTV, and I nearly wept at how grainy it looked. Buy some nice component cables and try it for yourself.
I bought a 46 inch LCD 1080i tv too. I find the some games graphics look better then most. Just most human games like Alone in the dark don't look to good but I don't mind. It should be fine. You'll like it!
