Just rented Red Steel + Zelda and I am not impressed.

Funny how most people feel it is the othe way around.

How the camera angles annoying you have complete control of the camera. Automatic jumping funny I don't recall issues when I figured out the way the area was layed out. Puzzles not annoying pretty much dumb once I figured out the mechnics.

Ah wolfform you lock onto the enemies and most enemies are cake. Also you can do a tailswipe. I think you were just broken.

I am not saying that Zelda is a bad game, its great.

All I am saying is that it was overrated. (Not so much at Gamespot)

The game is very fun indeed, just a few things disapointed me.

Lol at the TC. Because Red steel is an fps that is so revolutionary and changes the way we play the genre. *sarcasm*. Not all games are suited for all types of people. Zelda:TP is a fantastic game and either you have to grow up on the series or you have to get use to it. These are two completely different genres so you really cant comare the two. You can say you liked red steel and didnt like zelda. But theres no denying its a great game its just not for you.

o rly? Well if you have like you say you have then there would no need to complain about "annoying camera angles" the zelda games have always had the same 3d camera angles since ocarina of time. That game recieved a 10/10 across the boards. There isn't any problems with them and you claim to have played them all so you should be use to it by now.

Because I love Zelda games. I have played and finished them all.

Zelda is a walk in the park, you couldn't die in Zelda if you tryed...

Redsteel controls like complete ass, play any fps game other than Redsteel and i guarentee you'll be blown away by how well it controls in comparison.

I died 7 times in Wolf Form because I could not simply attack. I was shaking the controller and targeting the enemy with Z then pressing A but just could not kill them.

Could you all please stop thinking I hate the game, because I love the game. All I am saying is that I was disapointed with a few aspects in the game which they did not change from previous versions.

LMAO! Dude, obviously you've never played a Zelda game before..because he automatically jumps on all the 3-D games. And the camera is like that in all of them too. Stop being a noob and focus the camera when you need to..

Uhm I think your having an opposite day here. For me I thought people over rated Red Steel and Zelda was awesome. Idk what happened here but the controls for Red Steel were certenly not "AWESOME" as you say they were. Graphics and story were Blah. But I'm not sure if anyone else agrees with me but that is what I think.

I completely agree withTC that THIS Zelda game was overrated although i'm a big zelda fan. I thought it was overrated because although it was really fun i didnt feel as accomplished as when i finished the other zeldas. On the otherhand I thought red steel was great and still play the multiplayer now (if you can get past the AI and glitches).

WHAT!? i'm sorry but i don't agree. i bet no one will agree with you. Zelda is supposed to be a challenging game. You can't just be spoiled by easy games all the time. Red steel was horrible. the graphics weren't good. the gameplay was glitchy with the controls and the CPU was poorly designed. The CPU sucked at reaction time, and it is so easy to kill them because they walk right past you! The sword fights had no complexity. it was the same pattern every time.....slash and block...slash..block. And the controls and aimingfor the gun was like trying to hold a slippery bar of soap! And i guess you just don't like any Zelda games at all.Jayesler12

I have to disagree with pretty much all of what you said about Red Steel.

"the graphics weren't good" How are the graphics bad? At the time the game was released they were the best graphics on the Wii (along with Zelda) and even now they are looking fine. I take it you haven't played the last level which is amazing. The textures could've been a little more crisper but this game has great lighting, explosions, animations, etc.

"the gameplay was glitchy with the controls" True there was some glitches but it only seemed to happen with some enemies (gettin' stuck sometimes, or a couple of times they would die and fall through the floor) and IMO, it gave the game some humour, true it was not the humour Ubisoft wanted but whatever. I found no glitches what so ever with controls.

"CPU was poorly designed. The CPU sucked at reaction time, and it is so easy to kill them because they walk right past you!" This is also crap. While I have seen better AI in a few games, the AI in this was surprisingly good and added a decent challenge without making the game frustrating.

I agree with what you said about sword fights. They were easy to figure outand gotrepetitive pretty early on.

"And the controls and aimingfor the gun was like trying to hold a slippery bar of soap!" Yeah that's what it was like for me...for the first 5 minutes or so. When I actually got used to the controls (which took no time at all really) they felt a lot more comfortable to me then using a regular controller. Aiming was great as was just looking around. Other things like reloading, opening doors, throwing grenades, etc are allsimple to do and responsive.

I know there are other people that hate the game but from what you said it seems like you only played the game for the first couple of levels, which is kinda sad to make a judgement based on that.

Well, I have purchased both games during launch and I had to say that both are great games. But like someone said, we cannot compare these 2 games because they are different genres, I think personally Red Steel was awesome, it was not the best there is and it wont be, but for the first FPS for the Wii, it had enough to keep me playing. Zelda, well...we all know Zelda is Zelda, you cant go wrong with Zelda, but TP was nothing close to OoT. Anyways, my 2 cents

Trust me, Red Steel seems fun at first, but later it becomes a chore to play.

Zelda does suck at first but then it gets better and better.

Actually TP made me a Fan of the Zelda series but the camera controls are really good and your exaggerating the whole thing except the sound which starts to go fuzzy and not working but comn the controls are not bad and got through the game easily maybe you shouldve tried harder.

As a game, zelda is a full lightyear ahead of red steel. But depending on your tatse...you may find even the most mediocre titles better, because you simply don't like the puzzle/action/rpg/adventure genre.

I agree that Red Steel is better than most people claim. Gamespot gave us a good review of Zelda, and I think it's pretty spot on. It's a great game, but it's not worthy of its own shrine or anything.

A lot of good points and then...

I know there are other people that hate the game but from what you said it seems like you only played the game for the first couple of levels, which is kinda sad to make a judgement based on that.CLeRKSfan4life

Exactly. I borrowed Red Steel from my brother just so I could have an honest opinion about it. I got sick of the constant bashing of the game when most of it seemed a little under-informed. Red Steel is one of those games that gets better as you get farther into it. The levels get to be pretty cool and more detailed overall. The end of the factory level is awesome, for example.

I haven't beaten it yet, but I'm very close, possibly on the last level. The story is pretty stale, unfortunately. I really don't care what happens to Scott or his girlfriend. And the voice acting is annoyingly bad. In general, the presentation is the worst part of the game.

But the gameplay itself isn't nearly as bad as most people make it out to be. The FPS controls are simple and precise. As with all Wii controls, it takes some time to get used to. The AI is good; enemies hide behind whatever they can. I've even seen a couple guys exit a room when I start shooting and end up circling around and coming up behind me.

The sword-fighting is the only part of the gameplay that kind of sucks. The more difficult enemies block almost everything, and at some points you just need to get lucky. I'd rather have sword fights for bosses only. There's one level where you fight a boss then another ninja lackey appears immediately after for no reason, and he's harder than the boss. The sword fights are more frustrating than fun.

But I have no problems whatsoever with the FPS controls. Head shots are easy, the focus time feature is pretty cool, and it's good to see a game that rewards you for not killing your enemies. But it still gives you the option of executing them if you're pissed off.

You seem to be a fan of less thinking more action, so Zelda would not be the way to go for you. So I would disagree with you that it is overrated, its just a matter of taste. However I would agree that Red Steel is underrated, its a fun game.

Zelda TP is overrated but it's still a fabulous game. "...automatic jumping is annoying, the puzzles got annoying". Let me guess you've never played any other Zelda game before?

Red Steel's a decent game. Yeah it's underrated but it's buggy and glitched out. In some spots I'd just be trying to point straight and the cursor would start spazzing out for no reason. I also found AI enemies floating in midair sometimes. Sword fightings are awesome yeah but they could also use a bit of work. Red Steel 2 will be good I hope.

If you love the game so much, then why would you waste your time on a thread creating a negative vibe towards it?

TP is a GC game. Fora better Zelda experience, play it on GC. For aOhh-Ahh experiene, play it on Wii.

Wow i disagree with everything you said. I think zelda should've have at least gotten a 9. On the other hand i thought red steel was horrible. I put in the disc thinking it was going to be a great game. I play some of it and was EXTREMELY dissapointed it was horrible. The story was trash. So i thought multiplayer might make up for it. The controls are frustrating and overall its an incomplete game. IMO i think 5.5 is overrated

i agree the auto jumping is a pain in the ass the camera angles werent a problem though because its only annoying when your fighting enemies and you can just lock on to them

I'm pretty familiar with the Zelda series, and I definately think that Twilight Princess is a bit overrated. I seriously don't know how you're having a hard time with it. It's one of the easiest, if not the easiest game I have ever played. The extremely easy difficulty level was the main disappointment to me.

Maybe its only because I am at the start of the game, thats why it seems abit dull right now.

Was the start of the game a little boring for everybody else? Especially Wolf Form.

Let me put it this way, the first time through zelda tp kind of left me wanting more. Then I realised i had spent 50 solid hours with the game, and the only reason i was left wanting more was because time passed so damn quickly (i was enjoying myself so much you see).

So what did I do? I started the game again, and it is better the second time through!

By the way the wii version is easily better than gcube.
