I have been buying games for 23 years now, and i have noticed that muy game buying habit has been spoiled by game reviews. From now on i am going t the store and buy whatever game calls my attention. i am sick of only buying games from 8.5 plus in gamespot ranking. Remember how fun was to discover a new game and find your self enjoying it.

So..justsayNOtogamereviews,itspoilsyourgamingexperience.

No one has ever been forced to buy based on game reviews. It's there for the convenience of the people reading them. It makes it so that people who can't afford to play every game can assure themselves that they're getting a good game. If you don't like it, you don't have to do it, but don't try to stop other people from doing so.

Absolutely. You're crazy if you won't at least look at a 7.0 game. More importantly, don't JUST use GS. Try Metacritic or something. Above all else, people need to make their own informed descisions.

I partially agree with you. I was just thinking the other day about how fun it wasback in the day to rent or buy a game with nopre-conceived idea about it whatsoever. No internet reviews or FAQ's, no magazine reviews, and especially no game guides! It seems like every game today has a huge strategy guide that you need to buy to find everything in the game. If you don't, then you have to go online to get all the info. I admit that it sucks a little joy out of the experience, but I still keep coming back for more.

It's some sort of a double-edged sword. As a revierwer myself, I really try to be specific on the game's features and not my experience with tnem; that way I talk about the game and not how I liked it, which is very different.

As far as the final scores go, I just go with the best fit considering the game's strengths and weaknesses. But I do agree with you that we all have a different view on games and different tastes even. I myself enjoy a few low-score DS games, and other games in general.

I don't take the score into account. I read reviews to find more info on a game that I want to know more of. This isn't always the case; I buy a few games without reading any reviews because I know they're going to be great. The last two released Zelda titles are an example (Link's Crossbow Training excluded). Reviews for these games seem like very tiny spoilers to me, and I like to avoid them; I even avoid video of these games! :)

the problem with it now, the way i see it - is that better game reviews= more buyers = more online players = better online experience. That's why i look at reviews. basically see what other people are going to play so i can play them online. For example, i thought the game XIII (13) was awesome but no online community made me ditch it eventually

I don't pay much attention to score, i just read the review to know what the game is like.
