Hi guys, I just bought a Wii for 2 weeks now I have rented Mario Galaxy, & bought SSBB & Zelda Twilight Princess. I just don't seem to get it, I looked at the top 10 games for the system & honestly after seeing Mario the only games that appeal to me are the Zelda & Metroid franchises. I consider myself a hardcore mature gamer & have had my share of PS & PC games right now I'm kindoff regreting buying it, is there going to be mature games on this system - the gimmicks?

There are Mature games like The Godfather, No More Heroes, and Manhunt 2. There are also other games that can be hardcore, despite its rating, like Zack and Wiki, which is challenging as I've heard.

Resident Evil 4, it is the best game for wii that i would call Very hardcore, as for other M rated games, if thats what you mean, there is manhunt 2, the godfather, scarface, and medal of honour:heroes 2.

the four games i won are Metroid prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil 4, and SSBB. i think my wii is suiting me just fine with those four, along with the VC. if you want even more, well then maybe you did buy the wrong console, but at least wii has more Mature games than GCN ever did. so dont go complaining because its lifespan isn't finished yet, not by a long shot.

oh yeah and no more heroes.

there are a lot of wii games that will make you see that wii is for a hardcore gamer even i if i believe that there are no categories of gamers.we all love and play videogames not because they fit in a category someone put them but because we find something really special on them.i can not understand why a gamer that love super mario galaxy and then play wii fit can not love it too?someone who loves metroid games and super smash bros can not also love wii sports because he thinks that it does not fit him because it is diferent?we are gamers because we love what we do.and that could be a zelda game or a nintendogs game.what matters is to have the one thing that made us like videogames.a magic feeling that we all have felt in some games that can not be put in a category and make us continue to play them..

A case with an 'M' stamped on it doesn't make the game inside any better.

If you have any interest in on-line gaming, then I can't justify buying the Wii.

If you have high hopes for a large influx of hit classics on the VC (aside from the 10/200), then I can't justify buying the Wii.

If you are under the impression that the Wii's laser pointer remote is intuitive and revolutionizes gaming, then think about why Nintendo didn't even bother incorporating those controls into their newest hit Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

But if you like just plain old fun games, then yeah the Wii's good. But would it satisfy a "hardcore"gamer? I doubt it.

But...but...tEh bloodz!!!

Here's my favorite quote to throw at "hardcore" gamers:

There is no such thing as "mature" and "immature" games, only mature and immature gamers.

And here's one that GabuEx once quoted:

"The surest sign of immaturity is an insatiable desire to appear mature."

To the TC, try new things. Don't just stick to murdering people and...well, I guess that's all that happens in M rated games...

Expand your horizons.

So let me see if I really understand the question. Your a gamer that likes 'M' rated titles only and you want to know why you should keep your wii? personally I wouldn't. There are few 'M' rated titles. Not enough to merit the cost. If you mean to define 'hardcore' as something other that 'M' rated then I might be able to make a case for it... but yeah, 'M' rated games are few and far between.

If you like more mature games, well not much to choose from. RE4 and NMH are two really good games that you should probably check out, but other than that theres pretty much nothing,

I consider myself a hardcore gamer, and I pretty much only play my Wii... I have a 360 and I hardly ever turn it on because I'm always having too much fun with the Wii. I suddenly found myself putting aside Bioshock and Call of Duty 4 to play Super Mario Galaxy, Zack & Wiki and No More Heroes. Not to mention all of the great titles that I've downloaded from the Virtual Console. I kind of started to regret buying a DS after I bought it, but then I actually tried playing some of those games, and to be quite frank, Nintendo has got it down. They've been changing up the way video games are played for the last 3 years with the DS and Wii and it it kind of making standard games like Halo 3 or Half-Life 2 feel kind of boring... its just the same old stuff with better graphics. Playing Tomb Raider Anniversary on the Wii is a lot more fun than playing it on the 360. Just my opinion.

Medal of honour 2 = 32 players online play using a gun to point and shoot at enemies..

It doesn't get any more hardcore than that in FPS

It's not our job to make you like your damn Wii. You played it, you don't like it, so sell it, and maybe someone who wants it will get one.

Hardcore gamer... pfft

I'm tired of "hardcore gamer" being limited to referring to punks that like shallow plots and plenty of bloodshed. If you mean what I mean when I say "hardcore gamer" then there is plenty that the Wii has to offer. A hardcore gamers game, to me, is one with a heavy plot and plenty of challenges or problem solving. Not necessarily WiFi, but it helps... basically a game, that throughout the play provides a solid story line, intense action, and challenging puzzles.... requiring not only fast reflexes or problem solving capabilities, but both.. simultaneously. I think that should at the very least offer up Metroid Prime 3 and Twilight Princess while RE4 barely misses out because I don't see any challenging puzzles in it.

If you want a "mature" game with lots of bloodshed, don't call it hardcore... call yourself a Bloody Gamer, or M+ gamer or something... cuz if you can't dig all the great titles on Wii so far, you're far from a "hardcore" gamer.

Ok I stand corrected call me a mature gamer. I want blood, sex, violence in games. I've been around since the Atari days so I guess I know what I like in video games. You just can't make an adult guy watch kids cartoons.

hard core gamer is someone who beats metriod with all items, hard core gamer beat mario with out using warps or dying, hard core gamer gets all heart peices and upgrades on zelda, hard core gamers are those who cherish the game beacuse it was made to be played. games like metal gear solid, legend of dragoon, odd world for playstation, games that challenge you to beat them by being a gamer not some twitch happy blood lusting emo freak. i have a 360 and a wii, i got 360 so i wouldnt have to upgrade pc for a year or two, as mine cant even play the new unreal game, so i feel that the wii is still my prefered platform to play on, but there are games that arnt on wii that i like, you have to learn that if you say i only play this game, you miss out on so many amazing games. the only thing i wont play are horrible movie to games, and wont watch movies based on games. because they flat out are atrocious.

It's STILL not our job to show why the Wii is good, for Christ's sake. That's what Gamespot and IGN are for. You think they review games for the hell of it?

With that yeah, someone already mentioned the only few games worth playing. RE4, No More Heroes, and MoH2 if you aren't completely sick of WW2 yet. Other than that... yeah, you should have never bought a Wii.

Then yeah, you're up pooh creek without a paddle as far as Wii exclusive mature games go... most mature titles that come to the Wii will probably be available on either Xbox360 or PS3 too. Sounds like you want games like Assassins Creed, and Gears of War... while I would love to defend Wii with the news that titles like these are on the way, the sad truth is that I believe we are far from that happening anytime soon.

My advice: Sell your Wii (if you wait til day after thanksgiving, around xmas you might snag a pretty penny for it) and use the money to grab a 360. Even if you don't sell it around the holidays you shouldnt have any problem finding a buyer.

No comparing of the Wii to other platforms, even like this, is allowed. This is a common rule on all game-specific boards, and there is no excuse at this point for not knowing about it.
