got some best buy gift cards to use and was wanting to get some opinions on which to get. I currently have super mario land 3d and mario kart 7 which i am still thoroughly enjoying but was looking to get one of these two since there is nothing else coming out for awhile that i am really interested in. so could anyone give me and thoughts or opnions on why i should buy one or the other. any input will be greatly appreciated!

Kid Icarus: Uprising is the best game on the 3DS hands down. I have all four of the games that you mentioned in your post and if I could only have one of them it would be Kid Icarus. It really all depends on what kind of games you like though. I know there are some hardcore Resident Evil fans who would LOVE Revelations so if survival horror is your thing you might want to go with that.

Overall I would say this, both are great games but I could see people not liking Resident Evil who are not fans of the genre; I could not imagine anyone who likes video games not liking Kid Icarus.

the both look to be great games. I am an RE fan, but there is something about kid icarus that just looks new and refreshing...also best buy is having a 10$ off sale on icarus so i am kinda leaning towards that. how is the longevity of both games? I got mario land 3d and mario kart 7 for christmas and i am still playing them and have not fully completed either so i am looking for a game that give me alot to do like those two..thoughts?

While both are great games, I would go with Resident Evil especially if you want a console experience on a handheld. The story is epic, the voice acting was overall good, and gameplay was deep and a blast to play. The online co-op gameplay is a lot of fun and the way it incorporates Streetpass/Spotpass into the gameplay is very inventive. The only flaw I can give is that it didn't have voice chat especially since multiplayer is co-op. I consider it the pinnacle of 3DS games so far. Kid Icarus is a great game also but I was let down with the AR aspect of the game. There is not much to do with the cards outside of viewing it with your camera and watch a predetermined fight. They should have incorporated a minigame utilizing the cards. As it is, it is just used more as a tech show. The controls are not as bad as it was made out to be. The ground controls are not as responsive but other than that, it just requires some getting used to. Both have multiplayer (although KI has both co-op and free for all). Both have a 3rd person shooter look to it. Both have great story although I think RE has a more immersive feel to it (both are epic storywise though). Both have deep weapon customization although KI's is deeper. It really depends if you are more into a horror survival mood or if you are more into a light hearted mood.

I bought Revelations and I loved it. I played a couple of levels from my friend's Kid Icarus and I loved it even more.

I played the revelations demo and Kid Icarus first level. For what it's worth: Kid Icarus seems a more solid game from the few minutes I played.
The gameplay elements make more sense. It's like there was more thought put into it.
Though I see people like both so I guess it depends on your mood.
Also I don't trust Capcom with games.

Unless it's Ghost Trick? (Then again, after all the crap Capcom's pulled, I don't blame you in the slightest. Not localizing AAI2, canning MML3 and blaming the fans, SFxT...) Back on topic: they're really two very different sorts of games, but my vote is for Kid Icarus: Uprising since I like how it doesn't really take itself seriously at all, and there's extensive singleplayer and multiplayer modes. Also, the controls are better to me because Capcom didn't think to put touchscreen aiming into RE: Revelations, even though you can control the third-person camera angle in Type A or B control schemes that way (drag around the map). More precise, and it saves me from having to use a Circle Pad Pro.

I say Resident Evil:Revelations. It is a more immersive, tight, and polished experience. Kid Icarus:Uprising has more content, though, so if you're more concerned with content/price ratio than quality, go Uprising. I am a man that would choose quality over replay value, so Revelations for me. I also own all 4 games here, and my favorite of all 4 is probably a tie between Super Mario 3D Land and Resident Evil:Revelations

I will respectfully disagree with you there. I think the best 3DS game is Ghost Recon:Shadow Wars

If you want a cheerful and funny game with a lot of content and great online multiplayer, go with Kid Icarus.

If you want horror survival game with great online multiplayer, go with Resident Evil Revelations.

Both story modes are about the same length, Kid Icarus is cheaper than Revelations, and I prefer Kid Icarus' controls because I absolutely suck at analog aiming. :P

They are both good. If I had to pick one I would go with revelations, especially if you plan to get a circle pad pro.

Wasn't expecting KI:U to be spectacular, i bought it because of sakurai and i wanted to support, looked fun too. But man, is this game freaking awesome. I reccomend to anyone!

Edit: So far I have played 17 hours and 21 minutes, plan on replaying levels on a higher difficulty to get better weapons. Most of my playtime was story, some of it was multiplayer. I loved the VA and music, especially the mention of other games.

Both games have so much content and fun in their own way. Whatever you get it will be well worth your money.

Kid Icarus is amazing. I can't speak for Revelations but it also seems pretty solid. In the end it's up to you.
