Well I think they confirmed the air sections will be On Rails since you only have 5 minutes to be in the air. But they also said the ground combat you are free to move were ever on the ground.

No details as of now. All I know is that the trailer looks pretty solid. Very excited to get one although it might not be the first game I would buy when I do get my own Nintendo 3DS.
I think a great mix would be Star Fox in the air, Metroid on the ground. What I wonder about that five minutes thing is will it be simply a plot device to keep those sections short or will there be an actual gameplay mechanic, like your racing against the clock to get to your destination in under 5 minutes. I would like to see the latter.
