Kid Icarus is coming to Wii. That's all we know, leaving plenty of room for speculation. Platformer or Action Adventure? RPG elements? GOW-like at all? New controler? Share your ideas!

There hasn't been anything said about it coming to the WiiJaysonguy
Matt Bozon has said so every week on his podcast since he announced it. Which i believe was shortly after Bionic Commando was announced. Whether or not its still being scheduled for release isn't known to him, even though his firm belief leads me to say it is.
Kid Icarus will probably be a third-person action shooter like Link's Crossbow training. It would make sense for Nintendo to dump that engine into something bigger (no offense, but that game had 0 replay value) and add bloom to make the whole game seem more heavenly. Think of it like Project:Hammer with a long bow. Which doesn't sound hard at all.

Someone who works for a company that has no connection to Nintendo said it.
That means that there hasn't been anything said about it
No one said it's coming to the Wii. It's just because Pit was in Brawl and this made some people think, that we will see a Kid Icarus on the Wii.Fatkiwi
he's probably right about it coming to wii... but i'm not going to get all excited til i hear something official

Actually, I think his wife works for Nintendo. Either way I believe what he says to be true. Just my opinion. You don't have to be a believer.

If his wife actually told him this information, she would get fired.

OMG But it is confirmed!!!
Was that an intentional Rick Roll?
What? Oh, no. Sorry, wrong link.
Here you go.
I'm a big Nintendo fan, but I never seen what was so great about that game in the first place. I Played it a few months ago and see nothing so special. It's pretty hard (maybe thats why,LOL) but really besides bringing a few memories back and that music is kind of catchy

With common sense like that, it's hard to argue.

Plenty's been said, nothing's been confirmed.

No one of any substance has said anything about the game.
Once someone who gets a check from Nintendo says something then people can get their hopes up. Right now the only people saying anything are people guessing with no facts whatsoever at their disposal.

[QUOTE="Cyber-"]I really dont want kid icarus. I want more of a God of War style of Kid Icarus.

No offense, but why not just play God of War then? It's just that KI is a really really different franchise.
I do play God of War, but I dont like the unnecessary sex mini games and the button mashing is getting old. I know that Nintendo could do a game that is more serious LIKE God of War with the dark gritty nature, deep rooted mythology(favourite part), and heavy battle scenes but Nintendo will not make it more skilled. If there were huge expansive levels for you to fly around and run around it would be amazing to do so with Pit. The arrows+thw dual swords+air based battle could easily stop this from being a button combo masher.
I just dot see this game being significant as a platformer and a Wii really needs a game like this. Not to mention a 2.5d version of the original would be nice but after this one. Kid Icarus doesnt have much of an identity and Nintendo has a serious advantage here to make a huge game that already has a cult audience behind it. A serious endeavor would be much more favorable than a lighthearted one at least for this.
It's just that mario, zelda, and metroid all kept their orginal designs when they wen't 3D and I'd hate to see KI lose what made it great in transition. I want to see a new KI, 2.5D or 3D I really don't care. I don't want to see just some game with KI slapped on it.
The original KI was about variety. Every stage was like a different game. It was like 3 genres in one. I don't want to see it just become another adventure game that has nothing in common with it's orginal design.

its original design was a 2d platformer that was very intricate for its time. This cant really be a 3d platformer. It doesnt have much of an identity to begin with. Its not like Metroid and Mario who had many games to establish what was in store for those franchises. I dont see how they could accurately make a 3d representation of the platforming elemtns of kid icarus without it being very much like Mario games esp SMG. I see an opportunity for Nintendo to fill in a genre gap and possibly have a very innovative game. i cant recall many games that successfully have a flying person thaqt fights on ground and in air quite like Im hopelessly hoping for.
