...xD Let me explain.

Recently, Shigeru Miyamoto had an interview with Wired, and they asked him a certain question.

Wired: "Nintendo is huge now. How do you maintain quality control?"

Shigeru Miyamoto: "I'm always instructing my game designers on the history of the characters and worlds we've created. Often we're in development and I'll say, "Oh, this looks like a Sega game. We need to make it look more like Mario."

Um...any thoughts? xD I found it hilarious in a way. You can look more on this interview here with some other questions. http://gonintendo.com/?p=47364

ooooo....looks liek the old war wounds will never heal :P.

nah seriously...i dont think its a poke at sega...its consistency. after all a mario platformer game that looked or played like sonic or ws set in a world like sonics wouldnt feel like a mario game (and the other way around of course).

Wow, I hope SEGA reads that interview. As soon as I read the part about SEGA, I heard the "Whoopty!!" from Mortal Kombat in my head.

But in reality, it's not like this is a secret...SEGA has released abomination after terrible abomination since the end of the DreamCast. And it just seems to be getting worse.

I find it funny that Miyamoto can now use SEGA's titles as a template of what NOT to do with a video game. Ouch.

 That's awesome. I don't think he meant it as an insult to Sega, like osan0 explained, but it's funnier to read it like one.

Not necessarily.

If the first 25 seconds of this didn't inspire the entire idea of Mario Galaxy, some one's lying(...only half kidding).

in a way, thats exactly what shigsy is talking about. that would have made for a terrible sonic game, constantly stopping and starting and very rarely being able to get up any big speed. it wouldnt have felt like a sonic game (thats probably why it got cancelled).
