I just got mario kart and braw but why does mario kart have no lag but braw has a ton of lag? is it just because the people playing the game have sucky internet connection? I have a really good connection 10 down/1meg up so it isn't me that's lagging. Or is it the way this game was made? maybe some people have to get better internet connection or something so it will stop lagging. I can't play a good game on braw without it then starting to lag.

I have experienced exactly the same thing (also terrible lag on Mario Strikers) and all instances it was not the internet connection (was with people on my FC list). Mario Kart and Dr Mario there is no problems with lag.

can it be that the wii online service is not that great that it makes some games lag or it could be possible that they didn't code the game very good to run online smoothly?

Even the unexplained delay for us in PAL regions has seem to fix the problems that many Americans said they experienced so Nintendo obviously doesn't care enough to patch up the online because its obviously a problem with the Nintendo WiFi.

I think many problems might be solved if we could just see the ping of the game were joining and choose. Games on wifi for me range from almost playable to completely unplayable.

There has always been lag in fighting games. You could say brawl has a lot more content then Mario Kart.

I also have lots of lag sometimes. Most of the time it goes smooth, but sometimes the lag is just monstrous. But in all other online games I can play without any lag at all. Smash Bros. Online just sucks. :/

Brawl is a very laggy game. Everyone I knew experiences some kind of lag, whether it be framerate stuttering, or more commonly, button lag. I experience button lag most of the time, and stuttering every now and again. When I play Brawl, I tend to play offline because of how laggy the WiFi is.
