Lame Suggestion, Maybe Not

I think the DS would be way better with multi-colored face buttons (think Japanese Super Famicon, or XB).

I know it's not exactly rocket science to remember which buttons are XYAB, but it would add some ease and possible gameplay options for not a lot of cost (if any).

What do you think?

XBOX has many colour buttons and its not kiddy at all... I dont know whether it would be good or not though...

I think its pretty sad when people think the DS is kiddy, especially with games like Contra 4 and Shiren.

On topic, thats an interesting idea.

It would look childish.

Im not saying the DS is childish, but a lot of people think it is and with coloured buttons even more people will think that.

Maybe they should make a special edition like that.

Its an alright suggestion, but it would make the handheld appear more childish, and cheap.

The sleek all 1 colour of the ds makes it look alot more professional, and high tech.

Something with brightly coloured buttons would make it look cheap.

What I really want, is a matte ds. Get rid of this gloss, I don't like seeing my dirty fingerprints all over it. It also makes people less likely to want to use it when they see all the finger marks on it.

They would definately have to use a bright skin color for the DS, or it would look aweful. But if they change the colors of the directional pad AND the buttons, then maybe this isnt so bad of an idea. :D

Why in the world is everyone assuming it would be some sort of rainbow bright neon kids toy colour. I quite liked the retro DS mod http://www.joystiq.com/2006/03/16/retro-modded-nintendo-ds/ and I'm sure there are other colour combos that would work nicely

"think XB?!" the xb controller is a rip off of the dreamcast! MS added another analog stick and two more buttons.

Adding colors to the ds doesn't make the games any better. So why add colors? The only way they would do that is if the sales were slowing down, but thats not the case.
