Thinking about moving my wii out of the fam room and into my office for more play time. Thinking about getting the LAN adapter since it will be right next to the router. Anybody have any specs on the transfer rate of the adapter? Better than wifi or no since it only runs thru usb 2.0?

Get the router

Wired is NOT faster for what you're doing with the Wii, almost no one gets speeds that max out a wireless B router. You'll never even begin to approach the speeds needed to max out a G router. Homes just don't get that kind of speed from their internet service providers.

Another thing people are going to try to scare you with is lag. In truth wired or wireless has no impact at all on lag. Lag depends on how fast your internet service provider gets the signal from your location and then back to you.

A router is a lot easier to set up, you don't have to worry about wires, and you can hook all your components that need online access to it.

Wi-Fi has more advantages. Go for the Router.

I just have the Wi-Fi, and it works fine, but either one is good, so you have nothing to worry about.
