I asked this question on another Forum and they all said it was a Crap idea. I Personally like it. Although you wouldn't play as one of the Main characters (Aka. Link, Zelda) You could play as one of the many other Side characters. I Think this would be great for either the Wii or even the DS. I must admit though when ever i try to sell something it always sounds crap. But I just want to know what people think.
What would be the point of the game though? All Zelda games are about the chosen one finding and rescuing Princess Zelda, what else is there to do when you're not the chosen one? Walk around the world just teaming up with others to complete dungeons together? Link is usually the only character actually doing anything in the Zelda universe, where as everyone else is minding their own business. What kind of character could you be? I can't see what the purpose of the game would be. It's a single player experience, and that's all.
I don't want to put you down or anything, it just wouldn't work.
that would be impossible for the ds maybe if you did a guild wars type thing were you team up at outposts and only your group could see each other in an instance of the map
Good idea! Although it would be better if it was just a bunch of links in different colors like that one extra game on a link to the past for gba. It could turn out good if they made it right. Â
I think it would work in a way. Plus you could play as any character. That means you can play as any race, Plus you could buy any weapon ever created (Except for the for stuff like the Light arrows). Any i thought that maybe this would be a real good game on the DS. Plus add in some Single player stuff (Unlockerable stuff). although if your gonna make something like this it would be best on the Wii. Any way what i'm tryin to say is that i would work, It would be more a side story to Zelda.
I agree with that other forum. Id rather have Nintendo create a whole new universe and backstory in a Zelda-esc style of art and gameplay than try and conform the Zelda Universe into an MMO.
i dont really see how a zelda mmo would work. i could see different classes like the kokiri, gerudo, zora, etc, but i dont think there would be much to choose from in terms of monsters, quests, and the overall size of hyrule.
The one thing is for sure. Anyone who picked Tingle as a character would get there arse kicked. The anyway back to the subject. If they did do this there would be enough content because there lots of stuff you could revive from the Zelda series (Theres enough Zelda games). Plus can you think of any other Nintendo franchise you could use for an MMO.
It sounds fun, but only in games like Super Smash. The Zelda series have a story, it isn't about fighting with any charecter you like. But Like I said before it is a great idea for a Super Smash game, where you can be Zelda, Link or Ganondorf.
I think a Nintendo MMO would be great, but I don't think that Zelda is the right series to try it with. I could see something like Metroid working though.
Actually it might work as a prequel to OoT, ya know base it off or just prior to the raging wars that Link's mother tried to escape by going to The Great Deku Tree. That way you could choose froma a number of races and the war would obliterate most of those characters and even some parts of towns, just so long as say Kakariko gets really demolished. The war would be like a bomb to destroy all records of that game and magic and weapons that characters use.
I don't think an existing Nintendo title would be appropriate for a MMO game--maybe a deathmatch or capture the flag type scenario, but that's about it. However, Nintendo could port an existing MMO franchise or create a new one of their own.
If you could choose any character in the zelda universe & build them up like you do Link that would be really cool.
It probably would be better though just as a multiplayer game where you would do missons online with a group of other players. Everyone thinks MMO's have to be as big & bad as wow but they don't.
they should at least have expansions for zelda to continue the story rather then making a whole other story everytime.
