This thread is pointless now. I am past the boss fight, and it has degenerated into two categories:

1) People who say "Yeah, it's a tough fight, but stick with it and you'll get it"

2) People who say "Blah blah, I'm an elitist who thinks every game made after 1997 is too easy, blah blah, I have my head up my own ass, so I'm cool"

So at this point, I'd say just let it go.

You can use the longshot or megaton hammer to stun his hands.

Wow man, that sucks you getting it so rough but believe me, if the biggest complaint you have is no arrows for a boss fight you're kind of nitpicking aren't you? Smash some pots around the Shadow Temple and you'll be fine. Or as the poster above said longshot/megaton hammer.

Don't give up yet man.

Nintendo would never leave you with no means to win a fight, its simply a matter of figuring it out.

Six times, and I just have had NO luck... and as for smashing pots, I did and I got ONE five stack of arrows... I feel kinda screwed over... its mostly the health thing that annoys me. If I couldn't win with full health, what chance do I have with 1/4 health?

He drops arrows as you damage him, you have to keep an eye on the environment as well. I guess Bongo Bongo could be difficult for a first time player, but you really shouldn't take much in the way of damage, if any at all. So you should be fine with your 3 hearts. It only takes three arrows to take him down on the first go round, he will drop arrows during that time, so arrows are the least of your worries. You simply have to avoid being hit, which shouldn't be too hard, I mean you are using Z targeting on his hands right?

I am but L targeting isn't always perfect for targeting his two different hands, as if you target the wrong one the other is going to screw you. The attacks are also very wide sweeping and hard to dodge, and you don't get very much time in between attacks to get him back... just seems like it wasn't crafted in a manner that I would consider fair for the mechanics

For some reason I thought there was pots near the door, but as otherwise posted you can use the longshot just as easily

Why don't you just exit the temple and buy some arrows?

That boss is a joke on normal play-through, I had the big gorons sword and I killed him in two rounds I think...that weapon is game-breaking if you know how to use it. The bosses in the game are incredibly easy once you know their patterns, shame :(

Or you could just step outside the temple and all the pots will have their hearts/items again

when using the teleport spell, doesn't exiting the dungeon cancel the waypoint? That was my thinking, and I didn't want to run all the way through the ****ing dungeon again

There is a notable shortcut in the temple that cuts it down by half, that leads straight to the ship.

For the first 21 hours, I loved this game. I thought it was great, and I was having a blast. I could see why people loved it (though sometimes the game just integrated stupid and illogical mechanics that you had to look up to figure out, but still). Then I hit the Shadow Temple. Can anyone tell me what the **** I am doing wrong? I got to the Bongo Bongo fight, and here is my problem: I don't have any god damn arrows left! You need arrows to take out the hands without taking damage (because they never stop moving long enough to slash them), and I need an arrow to stop Bongo himself from rolling me over. And each time I die I have to go back with 3 health bars (unless I get lucky enough to get a few more from jars), and no butt ****ing arrows. So seriously, I don't know who at Nintendo thought it was a good idea to not give us a healthy supply of arrows, but without them I have no chance of winning, and I am saying goodbye to this game. Any thoughts or advice on this massive bull****?

EDIT: I beat the boss and now I am Gerudo Fortress. I have been getting caught by guards left and right and finally got frustrated to the point of looking at the IGN guide. It seems that shooting the guards with an arrow knocks them out letting you run by them. Boy, would have been nice if the game would ****ing tell me crap like that. Seriously, there are games that force you to figure things out, but adding new mechanics that don't necessarily make sense 4/5 of the way through the game is just plain bad game design

Essian

I told people they won't love this game except you are a japanese or this style game loving guy, i only player this game for like 20 minutes, then i delete it immediately.

I remember fighting that boss for ages with arrows and not being able to kill it. I then realised that after you stun him you had to run up and hit him...no idea why that passed my mind. Though in that case it was human error. Nintendo games, as one poster has stated always give you the mean to do the fights you need to. In fact I recall on boss in Majora's Mask that I knew how to beat instantly based on the items that pick-ups in the room.

I just finished the temple and I'm on to the Gerudo place, so I wouldn't mind knowing this short cut for the future... care to share?

Thats part of the fun of playing Zelda. You have to figure out what items hurt which enemy. If you dont like that, then I guess you dont like to think when you play your games. Doesnt sound like you enjoy games at all.

Yeah sure, when you reach the ship after going through the majority of the dungeon, there is a block you move to get onto the platform that allows you to gen on the ship. behind it is a ladder that is leads to a room at the beginning of the temple (the one with the spinning grimreaper blades.). This shortcut is VERY useful for the 3 Heart challenge (which I'm about in the same place as you right now. ;) ) Enjoy the game! :D

No offense, but this is a pathetic thread. The Shadow Temple isn't even that difficult, especially the fight you're talking about. Nor is that stealth bit you're whining about.

Go play a CoD campaign or something. Games are meant to challenge you and make you figure things out. There really aren't any mechanics that, even now, seem flawed or unnecessary in the game. Just sounds like you aren't very creative/patient...
