It's old, don't know how legit it is, but it wouldn't be surprising. A lot of Zelda fans speculated Twilight Princess to be the "Valley of the Flood" game. It's an interesting read anyways.

For those of you too lazy to read it basically discusses that the new hero won't be Link, and it would take place before Windwaker (just before the flood). And if he's indeed not Link, he cannot defeat Ganon.

Also, this says that since this character is not Link he will speak... Hmm.

no offense, but i doubt its legit, as a matter of fact, im almost positive it isnt. first off, its from 2008, thats before the art was released, which clearly shows link. lastly... it just doesnt sound legit.

Oh, none taken. I said it off the bat, don't know how legit it would be.

It is plausible that to imitate the "hero" he would wear a green tunic.

Now i'm imagining some epic Ganon line going "You may look like the hero, but you are certainly not. Now DIE!" That would be epic. Lol.

That would be an awsome story and a huge twist on the regular formula. Have the good guys lose and leave some hope. Have a character that is related to Link. I do not think this will happen, but its interesting to create the scenario.

The Links arent related. The only bloodline that is kept is the one of the hyrule royalty. Oh and Gannon is the same person from one game to another. He has the triforce of power, with it he cant be killed. The Hero of Time or the Hero or the wind or the hero of whatever u wanna call him the hero of is the one who has enough courage to obtain the Triforce of courage...so yeah...that guy is talkin out of his butt!

I honestly don't see the point of this discussion seeing that the article is pure wishful thinking and that it won't happen anytime soon. Reminds of that recent topic about having Zelda on the PS3 and 360. What's the point?

You never know if the relations between Links turns out to be something entirely different, even Miyamoto himself gets stumped when he's asked about the consistency of one series of games to the other, I bet he's thinking "Who cares about that? I just love developing them". I believe no consistency in the series exists unless a game is a direct sequel (Wind Waker >>> Phantom Hourglass).

Most Link's exist in completely seperate time periods, and are apart of the same bloodline. Wind Waker Link is a direct decendent of Link from Ocarina of Time, who is described as "The Hero of Time." Some Link's are the same because of direct sequels and spin-off games, like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. You can read more about him in the Wikipedia entry, as I don't really feel like going into great length explaining it when all the info is right there. :P

it's fake. why do you think an interview like that was posted in 2008, and yet everybody ignored it? BTW, about voice acting in zelda... does anyone remember baten kaitos' voice acting? how it was so weird because they couldn't pronounce your name? how they'd hiccup and start saying something else every time you skipped a line before they finished saying it, or how they'd continue talking the sentence they stopped in the mid, even though they've been mute for minutes because you didn't press "A"? do you want that in zelda? i don't think so.

*reads project deluge* HEEEEEY! i remember that! only last time i've seen it, it was posted on an IGN forum! it was just before E3 2008, where everybody thought the new zelda would be announced, and people started speculating over everything, trying to find the slightest piece of leaked info... and i remember really liking the idea, despite the fact that it was fake (even though everybody, including me, believed in it until nintendo's conference)

ever play dqviii? that had voice acting around the whole silent hero to represent the player type deal and they handled it really well. whenever the player character was referenced, it was through nicknames and such.

Here's the art people are talking about

This is 100% legit, straight from the Big N, pretty much confirms Link.

That article was just speculation.

So because Baten Kaitos has bad voice acting, Zelda should not have voice acting?

what if the new one was a full-blown remake of the first one, which is now revealed that the first game is actually a direct sequel to Twilight Princess, despite coming over 10 years before it.

WeaponXY

Windwaker Link is not related whatsoever to any other link...if u play through windwaker again after u beat it a first time then all the hylian language that the dragon, tree, and fish speak become readable and the convo between the fish and your boat explains that WindWaker link has ZERO relation to the hero of time which was OOT link...check it out.

baten kaitos didn't have bad voice acting. you just had to time it well and ignore the weird gaps when they refer to the character you named. it's not just baten kaitos, it's all games with voice acting and that "press A to go to the next line" feature. if a game wants non-awkward voice acting, it has to be something like metal gear: either skip everything, or you don't skip. and you wouldn't be able to name link too.

They can just refer to him as Link. Along with dozens of other work arounds to this problem.
