Our favourite, Mr. Miyamoto, has stated a new Zelda will be out for the wii, within the next year or two..thoughts?

Right now Shiggy should be getting his priorities straight and spend most of his time supervising the team working on Pikmin 3. Zelda is a fantastic series (with the exception of the CDi, Zelda II, and Phantom Hourglass games), but Pikmin is the greatest series Miyamoto has ever conjured up with his candy magic!

I beg your pardon? PH is one of the best in the series.
Haha, hey your the guy with the Olimar Mii right? I have never met someone who appreciated Pikmin quite as much as you do.Right now Shiggy should be getting his priorities straight and spend most of his time supervising the team working on Pikmin 3. Phantom hourglass wasn't all bad. The map drawing feature and puzzles that revolved around them were fantastic and the touch controls were perfect but the sailing in windwaker managed to be enjoyable, however, the sailing in PH was the dullest experience known to man (lets just watch the boat sail and tap anything that moves). The worst part was the Temple of the Ocean King. Let's redo what we have already done just to get somewhere new under a time limit while avoiding enemies. It's a decent game but Zeldas tend to be near perfect experiences and this game was far from that.

Hopefully the next Zelda title includes phenomenal use of WiiMotion+, the creativity on the Wii could use the jump.

Not only is this your opinion, but you're wrong.
Yes, I said it.

PH is not one of the best in the series, its far from it. Its a Decent game but what Pikminmaniac said about it is pretty right on.

I'll give you those, both the temple and the sailing were poor, and maybe i was slightly over-zealous when I said "one of the best", but the dungeons, bosses and puzzles were spectacular. Also the controls and graphics were excellent for a DS game. Also, it came with a multiplayer mode, simple and fun both online and offline. And for those saying "it's just your opinion", look at the reviews.
He is probably sitting in a room, with white walls, alone, with a pen and paper...
And if he can't think of any ideas, theres a man with a whip outside the door.
Edit: Mispelled "Sitting"...lol.
Personally, I think the next LoZ game should not rely on the Wiimote as a big selling point. When I play Zelda I want difficult dungeons, amazing music, beautiful areas and innovative ideas. I understand the Wiimote in innovative, but every other Wii game uses it now! I don't want a Zelda game where the main focus is swinging a Wiimote around and messing with controllers.
They tried to return to the OOT style when they made TP, but they also gave it a flair of something new. It made a good game, but nothing spectacular. They need to try and put themselves one step ahead of all the other games by relying on brilliant ideas and good design rather than the power of the console. They may have to admit that they won't make another game as good as OOT, and maybe that is for the better.
I think it will be released in 2010.
For a long time I've been thinking that Zelda Wii would work well using a first-person view. Combat sections could use a first-person view where your nunchuck is your sheild and wiimote your sword.
Moving around the overworld could be like every other 3D Zelda where you use the d-pad on the nunchuck to walk around.

how can u even say that ph was not a good game.....if ph is bad that means tp is a total Failure.....
for what it was on the DS ph was a great zelda experience......and what with the temple of the ocean king...it was more challenging this way....if u alll dont know this word anymore

i know zelda games have never had it but i think they will have difficulty settings, so that casuals won't feel overwhelmed and hardcores can feel like they are playing a revolutionary game. i.e. waggle sword for the casuals and button sword for the hardcore, and none of that quicktime poop they did when u had to fight gannon that was fail.
obviously better graphics, i don't know if they will go for a realistic look or an animated look, i would prefer an animated look i think it suits the series more, like wind waker is just simply easier on the eye than twilight princess, and i don't think the wii has enough power and data space to handle a realistic look(that would actually look good), also i hope the audio gets a step up, it gets painful listening to all those midis.
maybe they could do a co-op where link fights with zelda against ganon, actually thats a bad idea
i geuss some people might want to use motion plus? i dunno i hope they don't force that upon the developers let them make their own decision about that aspect, but lets say they did i don't really seeing it used well in a zelda environment, even waggle is bad enough for twilight princess on wii.

Uh Mario says hello.Poor Mario, always neglected. Trust me when I say that Pikminmaniac is truly a Pikmin maniac, to an extent where Mario may as well be forgotten. Yes, I am exaggerating, but Pikmin is probably the best game ever to him.i just hope he dosnt implament that whole hint system thing that was pattened afew weeks ago, it would pretty much destroy the whole point of zelda and completly casualize itlegend26
can you elaborate on that please? I'm just curious to see why you would think such a thing???
If it is implemented afterall...you don't have to actually use it. It's for people who get stuck and don't know about these kind of forums, or are too lazy to actually find/buy a walk through. (pretty much for people you guys refer to as "casuals") If anything, Nintendo would actually give people a reason to feel justicification on their purchase. A first for any company out there in the history of video games. No one would never be able to finish the specific game that makes use of this tool. I think it's a unique concept for sure. They can make the game as hard as they want, but extremely easy for people who just can't beat it. Some people will just give up after trying, and trying and use the "guide".
But here's my forcast for the Wii version of Zelda...
Wii Sports Resort: Sword Fighting engine x 12. Look at all the videos of the sword fighting that have been shown of this simple, yet complex demo. It's simple, and it works. Your character (Link) becomes transparent, allowing for 1 on 1, 1:1 interaction while "locked on" to your enemy. Zelda has been about puzzles, exploration and ever since the jump to 3d...combat (more so then the 2d games imo). What better way to tap into combat even more so then to create the first game ever to allow this type of sword fighting?
TP was a stepping stone for what the next Zelda will be (at least in my eyes...it's up to Nintendo from here). The aiming was perfect, but I expect this game to completely be built around the Wiimote. Combat, Puzzles, side-quests, mini-games, etc.
Imagine holding B while riding Epona, and making a whipping motion to make her go faster. Releasing B makes use of the sword/horse-back duels. Imagine what TP's bow shooting was originally? (holding B, then pulling the Wiimote back, just like a real bow string). Imagine locking on to an enemy, and making a boomerang throw with a throwing motion.
The possibilities are endless...but again....it's up to Nintendo from here on out
I hope it's another game similar to Ocarina and TP. Online rumour has it that it might a a casual game :x:|:cry:SMGalaxyRulez
This would never happen. That casual buzz was generated from the patent Nintendo submitted.

Actually, Mario is far better than Zelda in my books as the platformer is my fav genre of all time. Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World, and Super Mario Galaxy are all masterpieces and I will never forget them, but It's true, Pikmin out-prioritizes all other franchises for me!
P.S. Pikmin is a fantastic game, but Pikmin 2 is the true masterpiece. It outdoes the original by miles!

Eh, Mario's had great games, but to be honest I think that the Mario series is a little overrated; I personally think that Zelda and Metroid have both had better games in their series than Mario (or, at least, games that I have enjoyed more).
