I am getting a game today to play over the summer. I want an RPG or any other lengthy game for the DS that is already out. I already have pokemon diamond and beat it. I got arceus and everything, I done with it. I was considering FFIII but the reviews clearly said it would be very hard with few saves and was meant for people who are already into FF. If I got this game, this would be my first one and I dont think I can handle 1 minute random battles every 5 steps and constantly dieing with few save points. NOTE: I know about quicksave but it doesn't permanently save the game. Does anyone have any games that would be long, especially with a good story and last more than 20 hours?

There are a few. All the following are good options.

1. 'Gonna get Locked'

2. 'Check the Sticky'

3. 'Mario 64 DS'

if you want a really good, long, and difficult RPG then you have to try etrian odyssee. Its kind of an old-school dungeon crawler, and as far as games these days go its HARD. oh, and kinda fun too :P

Phoenix Wright isn't an RPG but it's long and fun.

You can save outside on the world map in FF III. It's not that hard. It's a nice, somewhat long game, that would be good for people first getting into the series, at least from what I think. If you don't want that, then get a pokemon game, those are always good for the summer. Animal Crossing is also good, but it's not a RPG.

You might also like Lunar Knights, It's an extremely good RPG with no random battles.

Hope that helps.

i have FFIII and it was a pretty good game... the part about the "not enough save spots" only refers to the end of the game. I mean, the entire game is pretty long, complicated, but not hard. The thing is that sometimes you are only able to save before cutscenes, and then if u lose the battle, you gotta watch the whole friggin' two minutes of the scene, and then u'll probably loose about five more tmes, so it's about 10 minutes wasted. But the game itself is about 35 hrs long, if u complete every sidequest. The part most pple (and gamespot) complain is that the final boss battle takes you through maybe two hours to complete the dungeon, and there are no saves in between.. other than that the entire game itself has countless save spots (not mentioning quicksave). personally, as an ff veteran i found it rather simple, so for a person who's just presented to ffIII it wont be SOOOOOO hard... not the ds version at least. its pretty addicting, and it makes you want to start the game all over too just to tryout new features (although i hate starting games over, i actually did with this one) so i recommend for agood game for summer, ffIII

*geez* that was a whole bunch of words... excuse my long-a$$ msg
