Since the online petition thing doesn't seem to work, how about taking the fight right to them. File a complaint with the ESRB. Manhunt 2 is the first, but it won't be the last game to be banned by people who seem to forget that the average gamer is 30 years old, and should have the right to purchase whatever they like. Let your voice be heard.

Its not the ESRB, they got Rockstar for dancing too close to the flame too often. And now the consoles wont release it, but that is because retailers wont carry it. So it all starts there with the retailers because if they would sell it, consoles would allow it, and it wouldnt matter if it was rated AO or not.

No, it's the ESRB. They are putting this game on the same level as porn. It's just a game.

It's the retailers and the gaming companies who won't support AO. The game's content definitely seems like it was appropriately rated.

All Take Two has to do is just edit the game. Its not a big deal, just cut out some stuff. Take Two has gotten in trouble with San Andreas and ESRB isnt taking any chances with Manhunt 2.

I'm with the freedom of expression. But blame Rockstar not the ESRB. They made the game too much violent to be put on consoles. The ESRB made its job.

If GTA 4 was rated AO since I think you're going to buy it, I think you'll be going so crazy.

Most places that have had hands on, says that the rating is deserving. Retailers know that they will take heat for carrying this game, so they cop out. Since the game probaly wouldnt sell through the roof anyway, they avoid the trouble that it would cause by carrying it.

Most places? Every preview I have read, including Gamespot's, said that it's no worse than anything we've seen before in games, movies, and even TV. Do you have a link?

I cant remember if it was here or IGN who said that it was deserving of the rating, I'm pretty sure it was IGN. Just go look at the latest story on the game. But this is what happens when you make an enemy of the ESRB, whether it was actually deserving of the rating or not. The ESRB wont budge because of who made the game.

If there were a huge demand for AO rated games, retailers would take notice, and some of them would probably start selling them. Videogames with enough violence or pornography to get rated AO are probably a small niche.

I don't really know how you could get back at the ESRB. I suppose you could boycott publishers that won't make AO rated games, but I don't see how that would affect them. I don't see companies ditching the current rating system, because they need it so that they can police themselves and keep the government from interferring with them.

IGN says it understand the rating, but saied its not very far from what we have nowadays. Almost all previews said that. It is possible to be a M rated game. ESRB just give an AO rate and we believe that was a great work they did, when they were just too restric because its a rockstar game. Postal was banned in almost every single country in the world (and remains one of the very few one banned here in Brazil) and got an M rate withou the need to appeal. U may think I'm wrong, but its politics, believe me.
