The longest story-line in a game is probably; Pokemon

But in terms of replay value and sandbox games, its definetly; Animal crossing - It never ends

Longest game is easily pokemon, i've played about 35 hrs on it and i've had it for about a month... (i'm a busy person that doesn't play games that often)

BUT, in terms of fun and replay value, MarioKart DS and Metroid prime Hunters are what you want

Pokemon Diamond. Still playing it over 250 hours.

The Yu-gi-Oh games are very lengthy as well.

Spirit caller is 200+. I heard 2008 takes over that much long to complete as well.

Pokemon Pearl , more than 600 hrs and still playing it

there are a lot to do :

Contest / Underground secrets / Battle Tower ( beat 100 battles one after another without losing )

and there are a lot of Daily / Weekly events they reach 20 events in a day
