How long is this gonna take? Anyone know?
I'm kinda hard-up for money right now and was gonna sell my 3DS, but I wanted to unlink my eshop data first.
And now this happens and I can't. :/
I'd like to be able to take care of this before I change my mind, because rent is past due.
Last time I checked personal data was not saved by the eshop. You have to enter the information every time you add money to your account. Is that what you are talking about Ovirew?TankZorzYes! Thanks, TankZorz. I just started looking around at some websites and came to the conclusion that you can just format your 3DS system memory. I'm kinda iffy about this whole thing, but I guess it has to be done. Besides, I'll have less games to be tempted to buy after this is done. It's part of being a responsible, independent adult. Bills come first, then leisure. Otherwise, my landlord is just getting screwed over. Hope you guys here on the 3DS/DS forum have lots of good games to look forward to in coming years. ~ Ovirew
Finally! This is great, bring on the new features. I wonder when they'll be done with maintenance?

And I hope you have lots of extra cash to look forward to in the coming years. :D

Just to clarify, the information will be saved on the 3DS and accessed by the eshop. It isn't saved to a server.[QUOTE="JollyGreenOne"]The e-Shop doesn't save any personal information (that's actually one of the new features that is being added with this update), but if you have you birthday or anything else personal entered on the system itself, it would be a good idea to format it before you sell it.Finally! Yeah, you have to format the system AND erase the eShop account while on the eShop.[QUOTE="TankZorz"][QUOTE="JollyGreenOne"]The e-Shop doesn't save any personal information (that's actually one of the new features that is being added with this update), but if you have you birthday or anything else personal entered on the system itself, it would be a good idea to format it before you sell it.Just to clarify, the information will be saved on the 3DS and accessed by the eshop. That's not what we said at all...
Nothing is saved to the eshop.

No, it's not saved "in" the eShop, but to get the system to a blank state you need to erase the eShop account AND format the system memory.[QUOTE="logicalfrank"]No, but this is a bigger update. Nintendo announced (with a lot of anticipation) that the eShop WILL be down for maintence befor the update. So yeah, no eShop until December 8th. This is normal people.Did the eShop go down before the last update?

Interesting. The Club Nintendo site is down right now too. I wonder if that's also related.
