I was reading some of the pirate logs and choze lore on prime 1 and I found something that made no sense the chozo said they trapped metroid prime in the chamber under the relics site but the spacepirates said that they had him in captivity and he escaped a couple of times but this dosen't make sense because they said that the could never open the chamber where metroid prime lay. wikipedia seams to have noticed the same problem.\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ can someone try to explain this?

"However, in the NTSC version, the capturing of Metroid Prime by the Space Pirates and Metroid Prime's imprisonment by the Chozo seem to contradict one another. In the Chozo Lore, it is claimed that "The Worm" was imprisoned in the Impact Crater, and that the would-be prison was sealed by the Cipher, a containment device created by the Chozo. However, some Pirate Data entries state that Metroid Prime is not only captured, but escapes and "Absorb[s] various weapons and a shielding system". The Pirate Data entries also state that Metroid Prime was encountered "In a series of tunnels," rather than a sealed chamber. This would imply that Metroid Prime either had found a way out of its prison or had been freed by Space Pirate excavation. Furthermore, there exist other Pirate Data entries indicating that the Space Pirates' attempts to open the Cipher were unsuccessful".

It's possible it's just two different viewpoints of the events. The pirates wouldn't know it was imprisoned and would claim to capture it. Either they freed it by accident highly likely or over time the prison broke down enough metroid prime got out.

The NTSC and PAL versions are different. It's never explained which version is the canon one.

Maybe it was just a typo or some false information gathered. Humans can make mistakes in their stories, so why not space pirates?

Then again stuff on Wiki isn't always true. So it could be a typo like Doodle said. Either that or on the inside of the chamber there is an open button.... That is only on the inside.

When I was thinking of typo, I wasthinking that maybe one of the space pirates accidentally typed in the wrong information and maybe left out a few important "nots" and "can'ts". You know, trying to be joking.

Wikipedia for once is right though, as I have just finishing playing through Prime to get ready for corruption, and the Chozo Lore and Pirate Data does infact say that. However as the TC also said, the Pirates encountered Prime in a set of tunnels, probaly in the phazon mines. Prime probaly escaped from its prison, and was captured only to escape from the pirates as well. Then it went back to the way it came to escape in the first place.
