Some new games do allow you to use the CC with them. Have a look around and see, last I check SSBB was one of them. Certain games are tuned to work better with the motion controls and others better with a gamepad. SSBB and other fast fighters prolly wouldn't feel as good with motion sensing. Likewise there are games that are tuned to be more responsive to motion controls, and would play different or possibly change the difficulty level with just buttons.
The other thing to consider is that Nintendo knows for certain that every single person who bought the Wii has a Wiimote and Nunchuck. It's easy to make games for something you are certain people are going to have, whereas you aren't sure that they will have bought a CC. It makes people mad to find out the game they just bought requires something else to play (see ultra poor sales of N64 expansion pack and then subsequent bundling of it with games that require it to ensure people had it if they needed it).
Need for Speed is a 100 times better because of the controls. Plus one setup has you holding the Wiimote like a wheel, how is that not a better choice for a racing game then a standard controller?
If you don't want to use the controller then pick another console.
I also prefer to play NFS Carbon with the Wii mote only holding it with buttons facing me and using 1 as brake and 2 as accelerate, i find it more fun and also easier to control then standard controller, but it does not mean they should not have included it regardless. some people like the classic give them the choice i reakon.
I was never in to the NFS series but was drawn in because of the control schemes.
I prefer using the nun chuck for steering (twisting) and the wiimote for accelaration (pointing up and down like a gas pedal). This control option to me makes it feel more interactive.
I agree, the more options the better. Personally, I would love to play gamecube games with the CC.browse79
That will never happen, the Wii "becomes" a Gamecube when you play Gamecube games. The Wiimote and cl-a-ssic Controler can nev er be made to work with it. Same with the SD port.
That would pretty much kill the entire reason some people bought the Wii! Why would you buy a console who's main feature is the new controller, and then make a game work with the other controller?
You, my friend, are the one that doesn't make sense.JrWho
Because some games just don't work with the Wii-remote. I loved Twilight Princess on the Wii, but the sword gameplay just wasn't responsive enough to really make it worth while. Maybe this could be improved in the future, but the Wii is better for aiming, steering, but not responsive actions... Having the clasic controller as an alternative allows the Wii to be even more dynamic.

Well you are right that the Wii turns into a gamecube. But the way that i see it is that if third companies are making products like this

that allow you to use a PS2 controller on an Xbox, PC or Gamecube then I'm pretty sure Nintendo could have made their own product of CC to work as Gamecube games if they so wanted it to. The reason why they refused to do so is probably because they would not be able to charge $30 for a gamecube controller anymore.

What's the point then?
You'd need to buy an adapter and then a 5 foot plus extention or just buy an adapter that has a 5 foot plus extension. So while you complain about 30 dollars for a controller you're paying even more for a controller plus extension plus adapter.
You're better off just geting a Gamecube controller which oddly enough is the best thing to play Gamecube games with.

i didnt say get rid of the wii-mote and nunchuck, i said thats the whole reason for having a wii in the first place, but give me an option to let me choose the CC in games where it would make sence to add it. the reason why i bring it up is cause when i played NFS i would have the option of using the wii-mote as a steering wheel, and during a curve when i would start to tilt it, i would tilt it too much and the wii i guess didnt know what i was doing and the car would stop responding start going straight and i would hit the wall, i understand that this is where skill comes in, but i wouldnt be having this problem with the CC

The point is (and ill keep it simple for you) that Nintendo could have made the CC work on gamecube games if they so wanted it to.
Yes, yes, I agree with the TC. The CC should be an ALTERNATIVE to us in games.
And just buying another console is NOT a solution darn it!!! What if I have a friend who wants to use a CC while I want to use the wiimote? That's what ticked me off with a game like marvel:ultimate alliance. It was either/or and not both.
It's like going to a seafood restaurant with a group of people. Not everyone is going to necessarily want to eat seafood, and it's tiring to hear people say "Well, why go to a seafood restaurant then?" Uh, maybe because everyone else in my group did? I just happened to want chicken that night...I'm not about to eat alone!

No they couldn't have. Again I'll break it down for you lol
The Wiimote handle only allows for a certain kind of plug, so right off the bat you'd need to buy a seperate adapter. Then you have the issue or cord length. Since the Classic Controller is meant to be played with the Wiimote either in your lap or by your side they wouldn't have made the length the same as a Gamecube's controller. That means that you'd also need to buy an extension.
There's no way to say "they could have made it work" without going out and getting an adapter and extension cables.
No matter what you're stuck plugging it into the top of the Wii

ur right but SSBB and other games are able to use all the controller (gc, cllassic (with only one l it would not let me only put one l, and wii remote with and without nunchuck

there are like 6 or 7 different control schemes in nfs...try them out

i only want it for some mario games and as the last nextgen console for me to get. I think having that controller would be nice so that playing a traditional rpg would feel more...traditional haha
