Alright I've played both Mad World and No More Heroes. I think the gameplay is simliar in terms of camera, controls, and how awesome and fun the levels are. Which one did you enjoy more?

I think I'm going mad world only because of the pain in the butt part of N.M.H where you had to earn money. Didn't enoy that.

I think the violence in Madworld is much more over the top. There are so many ways to kill people in that game; whereas, No More Heroes you basically just hack n' slash your beam katana the whole way through.

I just got Madworld today, but I have to go to work soon so I won't be able to play it until later, however I really enjoyed NHM. I believe in the graphics and visuals department Madworld is superior. I really enjoyed NMH soundtrack, and I hear Madworld's audio can get annoying...that and I'm not a fan of hip hop at all. So I think it will come down to story and gameplay to decide which is better. The story and implications of NMH would be hard for any game to top, but perhaps Madworld will have the edge in the combat department. At any rate, I think we shouldn't be choosing one game over the other but enjoying both of them.

I'll admit that I have only beat the first three bosses of madworld, but why am I an idiot? No More Heroes is a very poorly made game with a lot of untapped potential (It saddens me that suda 51's budget is so small so that they can't properly finish a game). Madworld is just a far better game so far. I am hoping that Desperate struggle is a far better game than the first.

P.S. My blog shows pictures that I took of both Madworld and New Play Control Pikmin that I got on the 11th.

just b/c madworld is a great game. it in no way demerits nmh. nmh actually held me in cahoots when me interest in the wii was dimming. it definitely had flaws , but it shunned those flaws by unconventional wii gameplay, dark humor, and totally addictive combat. your just soooo excited about madworld, you totally forgot who satiated our blood lust first.

Thus far I'm liking MadWorld better -- I've only played about an hour of MadWorld, but I like it better than NMH. The lack of polish in NMH really hurt the game imo -- but I am willing to bet NMH2 will be awesome.

Actually, I NEVER liked No more Heroes. It was the most painful game for me to play all the way through on the Wii console. The Ranked missions were the highlight gameplay wise, but got worse each consecutive mission untill you had that dreadful last level (slow unresponsive motorcycle. Completely unbarable). The motions controls didn't completely work either (if the finisher is telling you to slash left and you slash vertically it counts). The over world just gave you unwanted space to travel through and had no interactivity. Battle was fun at first untill it became insanely repetative. I don't think you can change my mind on this. No More Heroes is the worst game i have played in many many years.

P.S. I am addicted to Henry's Boss battle music from No More Heroes. It makes me druel! Also the story and cut scenes were amazing. It was just the actual GAME part that bombed terribly and that's what counts in my books.

They are evenly matched.

Although Madworld has more variety to it, No More Heroes is much longer.

Have you played your copy of Madworld yet? I would LOL if you gave it a 5.5/10 and No More Heroes a 9.0/10. We'd have the exact opposite opinions :)

It is hard for me to judge. I haven't exactly beat Madworld. I'm ranked Number 5 though. I am also completely in love NMH. It is my favorite game this gen despite its technical shortcomings. So far though: Gameplay: Madworld is just as addictive as No More Heroes Music: Madworld wins in this category (I love the soundtrack it really does fit the game well). Boss battles: I think Madworld might be better in this category also (Boss battles are truely awesome) Characters: No More Heroes wins in this department hands down, although Jack is a pretty good character Story: Again this goes to No More Heroes for the time being. Comedy: The announcers in Madworld are freakin hilarious, but they do get kind of repetitive. No More Heroes wins in this category too. Lasting Appeal: They are about even at this point. No More Heroes has left a bigger impression on me, but that is only because I have beaten the game.

* Graphics; Not really warming up to MadWorld graphics well, overall both are unique and over-the-top, but I'd have to say NMH because after a while I've found MadWorld annoying to play for my eyes. MadWorld is more unique and more extreme, but I'm not too sure whether it works or not yet, while NMH has no problem pulling off its style.

* Gameplay; While MadWorld has balance in what you do and when you do it, effectively it is all pretty much using the same combat, etc. While NMH goes out of its way for things to be different. You ride around like GTA (which is pretty annoying a lot of the time), you can customise your character (which I love, costs lots of cash, but its worth it), you kill people by playing baseball (its better then wii sports baseball lol), and many more. So basically it is what you want in a game, do you want a game that touches into all different genres a little bit to balance gameplay or do you want a game that does more within the only realm of gameplay it does?

*Controls; MadWorld wins for me, it is just not a random beat-em-up, the way it uses the wii controls is amazing, still haven't learnt all the things I can do, but you as the player are doing different things all the time. And you actually get tired after a while because you are doing so many different moves. While NMH control system is poor much of the time because it tries to pull off so many different game-styles.

*****Overall; MadWorld is great, but in smaller doses and is a much smaller game, while NMH covers more genre bases in the fact that you do so many different tasks and is a much longer game. Depends pretty much what you want in a game, but hopefully NMH2 control system will have a boost with MotionPlus.

I've only played two levels from Madworld and it kinda bored me. I guess I just don't find all the over-the-top violence as amusing as I used to. The commentators are great though. I hope the game picks up in later levels.

Madworld wins by a longshot. The controls in Madworld arecreatively implemented and you can perform a greater volume of killer moves. Also, each level in Madworld has something different to offer other than a new boss. Storywise, I don't know--both have me cracking up and interested. I haven't finished Madworld just yet. Also, I haven't even finished NMH--I got bored with it even though I'm on the last level and that was almost a year ago...lol.

I just beat MadWorld. This is what I'll say. MadWorld is a better made game than No More Heroes. In fact, it makes the gore and violence in No More Heroes look laughable. The bosses are better in MadWorld, the Music is a tie for me, the visuals are better in MadWorld, the gameplay is about equal to me, Lasting Appeal -- both games aren't that long, but no more heroes will last longer (if your only planning on playing through the games once) -- otherwise its about equal. The only part that No More Heroes is truly better is the characters -- all of the characters/bosses have a great personality in No More Heroes, where as in MadWorld only has three -- Jack and the two commentators.

[QUOTE="gamefan67"]It is hard for me to judge.

I agree with most of this list, except for the soundtrack, because I don't like hip hop.

No More Heroes was technically a pretty average game. The only redeeming factor is the characters.

HAHA awesome responses, I didn't expect to get people going fist-a-cuffs at a each other. I think first we need to except that they are in the end BOTH GREAT GAMES, and it will be fairer in the end to really do this post agin when NMH 2 comes out. But until then keep the debate going!

I've just started with Madworld so I can't give a proper answer at this point but I already like the fact that there isn't and stupid filler in between the actual gameplay like No More Heroes had. Madworld has better graphics, artiscally and technically. So far I like No More Heroes' combat more than Madworld though that may change once I've gotten a little more into the game. The camera in Madworld is annoying me a bit, and the lock on is not so great. While the music in Madworld is quite fitting, I prefer No More Heroes' soundtrack. I haven't gotten far enough in Madworld to compare story and bosses so I won't. Overall they are pretty close and at this time I'd say I liked No More Heroes more but that will probably change by the time I finsh Madworld.

No More Heroes all the way. Presentation's much better, and I hate to knock Mad World's visual style, but No More Heroes has color and makes its visual style much more appealing. Also, Travis's beam katana is just a bit cooler than Jack's chainsaw.

I agree with everything he said except Soundtrack I think No More Heroes has the better soundtrack I don't like Hip-Hop and I actually like the song Heavenly Star in No More Heroes and the background music.

Madworld wins in absolutely every department. Seriously. Jack is a way better more interesting character than Travis ever was. The Story in madworld is ten times better than NMH since NMH barely had any story at all. Sorry but being an otaku and ordering a lightsaber is absolutely stupid. I have both games and I did enjoy NMH but madworld is better in absolutely every single way.

I don't even like rap but I thought the soundtrack was great, and compared to NMH much much more memorable.

The only place that Madworld and NMH might be close to equal is in the boss designs. I liked alot of the NMH boss designs and a couple of the madworld bosses weren't that great. Overall madworld had better bosses but that is probably the one area that is even comparable.
