We have been hearing alot about the new features of Madden for the 360 and PS3. I was just wondering if you guys think the Wii version will have all of these new features (gang tackling, new animations, removal of "mario" running, etc...)?

I hope they let us use Wii controller, gamecube controller, and classic controller for madden. I'm a hardcore madden guy the wii controller is fun for madden but I rather use the old school way.jmizzal
than u should buy a 360!Â
[QUOTE="jfrancis04"]After watching the IGN videos, it almost seems like the Wii is a blend of last-gen and next-gen. What do you guys think? Sepewrath
I dont know what that means, can you elaborate on what you mean by this blend.
I guess I'm referring more to the graphics and animations. The 360 and PS3 versions feature many new animations like more gang tackles, removal of "mario" running, and new branching catch animations. We know the Wii version won't look as good graphically, but I've been wondering about these things I've mentioned. After watching the IGN videos, it almost looks like the Wii version has more new animations than the old Cube version, but not near as many as the PS3 and 360 ones. This isn't something I "know;" it's just a guess I made from watching the videos. What do you think?
I've been looking for a video that shows whether or not the Wii version has "mario" running. In the 360 and PS3 versions, the ball carrier will either plow through the line or shift from side to side rather than "running in place" at the line.
As far as the actual gameplay features, the Wii will have just as many as the other versions, if not a few more. The Wii will have exclusive modes like the mini-games and family play. It also has online.
I'm more of a hardcore Madden player (but I only have a Wii) so I've been interested in seeing whether or not the Wii has these certain new animations.

It has all the gameplay modes of the others, plus minigame mode, family play, and a few others. solidsnakeEx3
which in my opinion makes up for the so-so graphics compared to 360 and ps3

Ok well Madden on the Wii looks pretty crisp, I dont know how much better it looks than the current gen versions, because I havent seen any screens for them. But when it comes to those animations, it doesnt take a super computer to deal with that, so it will probaly be present across all platforms, at least all the next gen platforms. I doubt that they are putting much effort into the GC and Xbox versions.
The guys over at Nintendo World Report actually answered my question in their latest mailbag (last question on page). Here are some excerpts from their answer:
"And naturally, it runs at 60 frames a second. (What did you think it was, a PS3 game?) It is much cleaner and prettier at a glance when comparing it to Madden 07, and if you take the time to look around, the differences will stand out immensely."
"However, I believe the EA Canada team is working to get in as much as they can from the hi-def versions of the game, which leads me to believe that most of the advanced goodies and details should be present. "
"The most important thing from a hardcore perspective, or at least from my perspective, is that the Wii version will be online, and it won't use Nintendo's ridiculous friend code system."
A good bit of information I think!
Has anyone heard whether or not you will be able to use the telestrator during online play? because that would be great. Also the one gripe that I have with Madden on the Wii, and I dont think that it has been changed. Is the way that you pick plays, I mean using the pointer gives away the play. It should be the way it is on the other consoles, pressing a button. Using the direction pad for the buttons would work fine.SepewrathI think you still use the pointer but i'm still gonna pick it up. Haha well i suck at madden games and if i play online i'll get killed

You can only use the telestrator for the exhibiton matches and the mini-games. You can not use this during franchise or online mode. The same goes for Family Play mode. You can only use Family Play mode during exhibition matches and mini-games. Family playcan not be used onlineor in franchise mode. I really don't care ifthat isnot in online play...I just care that we do have online play-which has been confirmed!!! There will be leaderboards--and even tournaments--which Stikers does not have. However there won't be a season mode online
So what exactly is Family mode? is there somewhere on gamespot that talks about it?Shanerfin
Here's what it's all about. To sum it all up, family play mode allows you to unattach the nunchuk and play only with the Wii Remote. The computer will guide your player--all you have to do are the basic gestures such as juking, stiff arm... and other moves with the Wii Remote. This can be done on the fly...so you can also attach the nunchuk back in for fullcontrol anytime you want during the game. Family play was obviously designed for beginners, so that they do not have to worry about guiding there character and doing gestures at the same time. Family play can only be done during exhibition and mini-game matches. Any other mode....such as playing a season or playing online...does not use the feature.
