Madden 08 Roster Updates

I've seen in a few threads that Madden 08 (not the newly released 09) will be updating rosters throughout this year. So if I go run a roster update for my 08 will it also update player ratings? Will it add rookies to the game that were not in it in 08 (ie this year's new draft class)?

Anyone know when the last update was? I just went online and downloaded the rosters and saved them. Then when I went to the main menu and view rostors they were still out of date. For example, Kevin Jones was still on the Lions and Chad Pennington was still on the Jets. I know the Pennington release is still kind of new but Jones has been cut from the Lions since early 08.

Or am I doing something wrong?

That does make more sense. Why would EA allow updates to an old game that could take sales away from a new game. People buy the newest version a lot of times for updated rosters alone.

However, if anyone can prove this wrong let me know because I would love to update my rosters and start playing my 08 again since it sounds like 09 isn't a whole lot different from a franchise standpoint.

They didn't lie

This is the quote......

"Promised downloadable content such as roster updates planned for late 2008, early 2009"

Which is true, they offered roster updates into the offseason and anyone who got the game could have the most update game possible.
