They are all great but the problem with Galaxy is the camera view.

Super Mario Galaxy is the best of the bunch, and is one of,if not,the best platformer to come out of Nintendo.Super Mario 64 is a good game by today's standards, but the game is just too dated; the game has had its run,but it's been surpassed.Meanwhile,Super Mario Sunshine is easily the worst of main franchise, and is absolute garbage compared to the likes of Super Mario Galaxy.

My order would be:

1: Mario 64

2: Mario Sunshine

3: Mario Galaxy

I just didn't dig the space/planets setting of Mario Galaxy at all.

It is between Galaxy and Sunshine for I would say Galaxy it was close because I liked both alot.

I would really reccomend playing M64... you could probably find it for DS pretty cheap (dunno if it's on VC).

Anyways, I'd probably say Sunshine. I know a lot of people will probably say 64 for nostalgic reasons, but I just feel like it got repetetive. I know that's probably not true, I just don't know how to describe it.

And btw, IMO... Galaxy is probably the single most overrated game this gen. Not to say it's bad, though, again, dunno how to describe it....

I will always vote for Super Mario 64 in these polls. In the past Galaxy would beat Sunshine for second by a mile, but after playing Sunshine again I realized how much I liked it - it was definitely more challenging than Galaxy. All three games are good though.

Galaxy for sure, wasn't a fan of 64 or sunshine, loved the originals though. Galaxy was a nice turn around for me, what a bizzare and very inventful game.

Definetely Galaxy. I never played Sunshine, and I only played the DS version of mario 64, which I thought was just okay.

Overall Super Mario Galaxy is the best of the three. It has the best Graphics...I know that doesn't matter I'm just pointing it out because it's a beautiful looking game, the best Soundtrack and best Level Design. Not to mention it has Rosalina, and let's face it, she's hotter than Peach :P It also has some of the best Boss battles in any Mario game. The only thing about Super Mario Galaxy is that it's too easy, at least for me. Though there are still some pretty challenging levels like Luigi's Purple Coins, the majority of the game is easy.

Super Mario Sunshine is still very good Graphically, especially the water all around Delfino Plaza, it looks really, really good. It's the only one of the three that lets you ride Yoshi, which is awesome all on it's own. And it's definitly the hardest of the three, collecting all of the blue coins literally took me months upon months. I would stop playing from time to time because I got sick of trying to find them all and I eventually had to use a guide to find them all because it was really that challenging. And the levels where Shadow Mario steals F.L.O.O.D are also pretty challenging. Also, it's the only Mario game ever where Bowser actually talks with full voice acting. I wish they would have kepy his voice for Super Mario Galaxy because it's better when he actually talks instead of grunting and growling. I can understand the grunting and growling for when he laughs but not when he talks.

Super Mario 64 is still a great game. But after being out for over a decade it just doesn't look so good anymore. When it first came out it was amazing, I remember being blown away the first time I played it because of the leap from 2D to 3D. But going back to it again, I don't feel that way anymore. I've played through the game so many times, and I guess that's the main reason why I like it the least. And it's even easier than Super Mario Galaxy. It did revolutionize 3D platformers, but it's been surpased.

I guess my order would be this. Overall I like Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine then Super Mario 64. Super Mario Galaxy has so many more good things going for it than the other two, the only exception is the difficulty.

If I had to choose based on difficulty it would be Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy then Super Mario 64.

Mario Galaxy just amazed me so much when I played it for the first time. Mario 64 is good but Super Mario Galaxy is just simply unbelieveable in terms of level design, music and gameplay. Super Mario Sunshine was okay but not up to the Mario standards of awesome.

I voted Super Mario Galaxy. It's easily the best 3D Mario game in my books, and the 2nd best Mario game of all time behind Super Mario World. The soundtrack for Galaxy is epic and puts even SSBB's soundtracks down on their knees.

Funny. I found Mario Galaxy's unique levels to be a step up from the monotone tropical levels of Mario Sunshine.

what I didn't like about Galaxy was that the land wasn't all that expansive like Sunshine (WindWaker has this same problem). And I hate using the Wiimote for a game like this.

For me, Sunshine wins. I miss the water jet-pack.

Got to go with Galaxy perhaps the greatest fan service ever created, the gameplay and settings rival Mario 64. But what sets it apart is the soundtrack and the powers I mean come on the return of fire Mario. You cant beat that.

I still go back to play Mario 64. I lost interest in Galaxy after about the 5th world. Sunshine was...interesting...I think people spent way too much time bashing it honestly. It was a good game, just a bit different. If Mario 64 had a revamp, I'd play it all the time. 1) Super Mario 64 2) Super Mario Sunshine 3) Super Mario Galaxy

No way Sunshine was terrible. Oh wow there is dirt on the wall quick I am going to need to use annoying machine called STUD or whatever and clean it up or I am in trouble. Really come on Galaxy is the best out of all of them.

woooow... IGNORANCE IS THY NAME, HEAR MY ROAAAR! honestly? thats just upright disprespect, blatantly disregarding what the game is... it has some of the best platforming in the series... and the FLUDD ( easy to remember because it shoots WATER) was magnificent, despite what all of you hecklers say.

Some people are so easily turned off by a new concept. FLUDD made the platforming more innovative and fun in my opinion. Probably more difficult too, but since when is that a bad thing? It appeals to the "Hardcore Gamers" \m/(=_=)\m/

FLUDD-less levels were actually my least favorite  I remember the frustration of falling over and over again, until I was angry to the point of putting a hole in my wall. I sufficed with throwing a temper tantrum and sulking until I was ready to try again.

Super Mario Galaxy is the best out of the three. But SM64 deserves props for pretty much inventing the 3D platforming genre. Super Mario Sunshine was an amazing game, but it doesn't hold a candel to the other two, imo.

Galaxy is by far the best 3D Mario game however, none match the 2D games. Between Sunshine and 64, it's a toss-up. Sunshine had an improved camera and fixed some of the technical issues from 64, although 64 was more memorable.

Galaxy narrowly beats 64. While 64 was a reveloutionary advancment in it's time, it feels dated today. Galaxy has the graphics, presentation, music, art and level design to propel it to the top. (Though it could use a story to intriuge the players)

Nostalgia? And Super Mario Galaxy is the best game. The only flaw people seem to have is the camera and I had no camera problems the entire game.
