The Wii mote and nunchuck is easily the most acurate way to play the game. The Gamecube controller is easily the most difficult way to play the game (because you have to remove your thumb from the analog stick to perform the important tricks and pop-a-wheelies. This is almost unworkable)
It's the exact opposite of Super Smash Bros Brawl in other words.
Here's the thing: I have more fun when using the Wii Wheel, but I'm more effective with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.
So, when I'm in a competitive mood, I stick with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. When I care less about winning and more about having fun, I use the Wii Wheel.
This typically means that when I play with friends, the Wii Wheel is my choice, and when I play single player, the Wii Remote and Nunchuk is my choice.
If you are performing tricks your thumb does not need to be on the analog stick. Tricks = in the air, no analog needed. Popping wheelies = going straight, no analog needed. The Wii mote and nunchuck is easily the most acurate way to play the game. But just shaking the wiimote to do those things is a lot less troublesome because all your fingers can remain on all of the important buttons at all times. It's less trouble to use the Wii remote and nunchuck.
[QUOTE="_Pinbot_"]I use the GC controller because the Wiimote is terrible for everything.dtno132No its not, you just hate the wii. Sell it already.
...Ummm. I love my Wii (hehe) and I use the GC controller. And I highly dislike the wheel and nunchuck.
What I am saying is that the instant you take your thumb off the stick it goes back on and that your thumbs have access to all the "important" buttons just like when playing with the chuck or wheel. Only my left thumb moves, and for whatever reason I need to move it - wheelie or trick - I do not have to sacrifice precision because while doing tricks and wheelies, the stick isn't needed. You see what I'm saying? You lose precision with the wii wheel. We all have our ways of playing. Shaking a wheel and being able to turn it isn't enough for me to call it "fun". :PBut just shaking the wiimote to do those things is a lot less troublesome because all your fingers can remain on all of the important buttons at all times. Wiimote only (no wheel shell)
Honestly, once you get used to the wiimote, it becomes obvious that it's better in every way. The GC controller or nunchuck users are the people who tried the wiimote once or twice and quit because they wern't immedatly great at it.
Wrong. Opinion, not fact.Wiimote only (no wheel shell)

Yes.
And I declare that someone should record the contest and post a link to the video on GameSpot!
All of life's arguments should be settled like this. On Mario Kart.
There would be no more war.
Ok, there are various responses, but do you use auto or manual? I would think a die hard player would use manual, but what is the consensus here?zilcher
I prefer Auto, mostly because I can't be bothered to mini-turbo. But it's not like I'm new at this game. I've got a VR rating of over 9000.
It seems like the carts have a higher top speed in Auto, but that might just be because I'm doing it wrong in Manual.
