seeing how these two games 'are' ninty's premiere titles. i picked both up @ launch (pain in the pocket..less than two weeks apart). i was wondering if any of these tiles holds up the flare it had @ release time. im sure it has somewhat diminished, but to what extent.

i never play kart unless friends are over. i play brawl occasionally, but the online interface is less than desirable (there needs to some kind of alert or nudge system)

brawl>kart imo

I say Kart is better than Brawl (my opinion), but I'm sure I'm in the minority. The online in Kart is so much better, and 12 player online = win.

kart seems like a luck of the draw game. ive seen unskillful players take the win...let the casual crowd get some glory of course. it doesnt seem to be very strategic. on the contrary, brawl is all about skill! take that smash ball out and have an all out melee, the most deft player usually takes the win correct? cant say that w/ mario kart

In terms of online, yes. Both titles have great replay value.

Well, in most gamers opinions (including myself), Brawl is the Wii's biggest "gamers game," and also it's best title, simply because of the infinite replay value. Mario Kart Wii got old to me within the first two hours of playing it, and it really didn't add much new to the table besides making the item-combat system incredibly unbalanced. Oh, and making Battle Matches no fun.

Brawl even made useless-yet-awesome modes like the Chronicle or the Masterpieces, on top of the already-superb fighting formula, new events, and SSE. The two aren't even in the same league, unless you consider online play a huge factor, in which case, Brawl's overclocked servers lose to MKW by miles.

Personally, I don't want to play a game where I win every time, just because I put more time into the game. Where's the challenge?

Also, if you're really good at Kart, you can win just about every time. I see some players lap other players online. I think people didn't give the game enough of a chance and just assume that you should win every time right from the beginning.

That's what I'm talking about. People didn't give the game a chance, because at the beginning it feels "unbalanced". If you get good at the game, a couple blue shells hitting you doesn't mean diddly squat.

I'll take Brawl over Mario Kart any day. More thinking and analyzing your opponent is why say that. I love being able to think of the next few moves I will use and see them executed perfectly or even better than that is when it isn't executed perfectly and you have to readjust. Mario Kart is a great game and has its charm, but it doesn't have the same depth as Smash. That's why I say Brawl > Kart.

i think as randoblade stated. the item balance is abysmal. cpu and human. i know you can change the options locally, but i dont think that available in wfc.

@bob- oh i dont win everytime in either game, and i dont expect to im most areas. it just feels that mario kart has more roulette opposed to deftness in brawl. but kart is more accessible than brawl. maybe that why matching up is easier online. maybe thats why a less than skillful player can win in kart, but a less than skillful player can never win a match against a skilled player by sheer luck in brawl

kart>brawl as a casual game

overall: SSB Brawl > Mario Kart Wii

But when it comes to online: Mario Kart Wii by far > Brawl.

Mario Kart Wii is a good game, but the item balance is practically broken.Super Smash Brothers Brawl is a lot less frustrating.

just imagine if brawl was given a later deadline. seeing how brawl was released in within two weeks of kart, development had to be doing some serious OT to get both titles on the shelves. im sure ninty wanted the more casual game to have the easier online interface than the more core game.

if smash had karts online face...that would be one sexy brawler

First of all a game is only supposed to last about a month or two of playing. The idea that games should be good for years is wrong.

As those two it's Kart by a mile.

Smash Bros isn't a bad game but the best thing about it is the jukebox feature.

Mario Kart Wii has better online

As an overall game though it is Super Smash Bros Brawl it is packed with varitey being able to create your own stages, plenty of unlockables and it has some awesome music to some stages. It has more value to it.

I still play Mario Kart fairly often. The online is great. I play Smash about once or twice a month. Its better in local play than online, but it still can be fun.

While the scope of Super Smash Bros. Brawl is impressive, I have to say that I have played many, many more hours of Mario Kart Wii. The reason for that being that the online mode in MK Wii is a billion times better than that of Brawl, so the replay value (for me) is just that much higher.

In fact, I still play MK Wii online regularly. I have not played Brawl in months.

Mario Kart Wii > Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I found Brawl to be not as good as I had hoped, but Mario Cart is decent.

I still play Brawl more than any other game. I play with my friends every second day for hours. To me, it is the longest lasting game of all time and the greatest multiplayer ever made! I play without items against tournement level players so I am pretty hardcore with this game. Maio Kart isn't nearly as good as Brawl, but I love it as my favourite Mario Kart yet. THe one problem is the annoying items. Thay are a bit too much now.

400+ hours in Brawl VS 40hours in Mario Kart

SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL is more than 10 times greaters than MARIO KART WII

I go on and off for both games.

I start playing neither of them (another game)

Get bored of that game, hop online in MK.

Do that for a week or two.

Get bored of that, go to brawl for a bit.

Right now i am playing brawl. But I love playing online MK. it is so addicting. I give it to MK because they screwed up Brawls online

Offline: Brawl>Mario Kart

Online: Mariokart > Brawl

Overall: Brawl>Mario Kart

I though that Brawl had more polish that, if given to Mario Kart, would have most likely gotten the game AAA status. I mean imagine Mario Kart with a track creator, and Brawl level visuals. That would have been so amazing. Still I love both games.

However I find these games to be the best multiplayer games on the Wii. They are tons of fun. Also, to the people who compain MK to be "unbalanced", maybe you should practice a little because I can come in first place while getting hit with the Blue Shell two or three times. It is about skill and how you utilize your environment and items. So stop whining, geez

super smash bros brawl is much better than mk. mk was awesome but theres NO beating brawl, i bet by the time people stop making games for wii, it will still be the best game out there, and aslo, i played brawl for 24 hours straight when i got it, beat that!
