I played people who have blazing fast speed constantly (not even smoking, it looked like infinite mushrooms or something)

another guy had infinite bullet bill

another guy had inifinite... everything

the only good hack someone has used is the one to choose a track which isn't included online (which I don't understand why they're not included online anyway)

How do they do this?

I think the real question you should be asking is: Why do they do this?

It serves no purpose than to inflate the hacker's own ego, which makes it meaningless. Although the not-included track hack seems pretty cool.

Yeah, the extra track cheat/hack is cool. The rest of the things these low lives do just spoils the game.

well there are cheating devices for the DS that they could have used or something, but I havn't tried to find a match in MKDS for a while now since half the races were full of hackers, and people always disconnect so it's hard to even add to your record or anything. The online play on it probobly use to be good because it was probobly more clean from hackers and junk. I wouldn't know I only got the game in August. Hopefully this won't happen to MKW even though there already are a few hackers in the wifi, only 1 i've experienced.

I believe it has something to do with Action Replay and the fact many Nintendo games don't block it from online play (which is turning many away from the online scene). Why people do it is simple, ego and the statisfaction of winning (which is the ironic part).

I guess its fun for them. Nintendo should really try to stop this from happening. I remember when i played that game online, there was always a cheater in a game or 2.

Here's the reason I never once tried this game online when it was still in my possession. I've heard nothing but "cheat this, hack that, snaking," and it ruins any fun one could possibly have with that section of the game. Nintendo needs to invent something that can block the use of Action Replay.

Sorry to ask but what is your problem with snakers??? Cuz I consider snacking an advance technique that requires ability, so if someone beat me using this technique I consider him a player that deserve the victory. Nowadays, I 'm a snaker too but in order to reach perfection, hard working has been necessary...So I guess that if you ever played SSBM on GC you also complained about those who use wavedash, L-cancel and other melee techniques...!!

Power sliding wasn't meant to be used in this way, it's an exploit.

As was previously mentioned it's an exploit, not a skill. No I don't and never did had and issue with the techniques in SSBM. Reason? If you are a technician all those things can still be countered through strategy. In Mario Kart stopping a snaker requires either a) Luck(right items at the right time) or b)doing the exact same thing.

I could snake in Mario Kart too, but the fact is the experience feels cheapened. I almost never.......screw that....I don't have to change any tactics when I am snaking. When I'm not, I have to strategize which makes victory that much more rewarding. Snaking victories are shallow victories, IMO.

EyeShatteredSky

Some people defend the DSi losing the GBA slot for this purpose (because that's the port most expoited by hackers and cheaters), but really how long does anyone think it'll take for the SD card slot to be the next port-du-jur for pirates and punks? Action needs to be taken over the NWC (something which recognizes the "carrier signal" of the cheat coding that's been tacked on to the original program - Can it be that hard to do?), but that costs money and time and up-keep... and companies are not interested in extended relations with the buying public, they primarily want to sell you product X and then get on to product Y and product Z. That's how a profit is turned. Part of every business model on the planet has become "Planned Obselecence"; Building a break-down into a product's life cycle so that you don't become complacent consumers, happy with what they have. If you build something too well, no one will have a need for buying your product Y or product Z...

Who cares if the online is problematic? Getting your money doesn't depend on puting out a 100% (or as close as they can make it) functional title, so why put any time or money into fixing it (the online cheating problem)? While it's certainly not right to be doing, a twisted side of me understands the mentality behind such a decision. The other side just gets frustrated at the failure of what could be so much fun.

I've played online mode a few times now, fortunately, I haven't come upon a hacker.

And the only thing I'm guilty of is snaking here and there ;)

What tracks are you not able to race on in online mode?

Bowsers castle, ship fortress, peaches garden, N64 frappe snowland, waluigi pinball, the clock track, etc. I think it's 10 or 12 courses which aren't included online for some reason.

I don't mind playing on levels that aren't meant to be online, i'd be fine if that was the only hack people did, but you never get hackers that just leave it at the level select. Because if someone hacks once, they're going to hack for the rest of the race, and all other races they play in... :(

Guys, you're gonna have to face the truth, COMPANIES DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, ONLY YOUR CASH!!! THE DONT CARE ABOUT HACKERS, ONLY ABOUT PIRATES GETTING THE GAMES FOR FREE!!! ONLY WHEN PEOPLE COMPLAIN THEN THEY SORT THE PROBLEM OUT TO GET MORE PEOPLE BUYING!!! THATS HOW THE GAMING INDUSTRY WORKS!!! EA GAMES IS ONE EXAMPLE!! THEY MKE LOADS OF CRAP GAMES AND STILL GET MILLIONS JUST FROM THE COVER! NOT WHATS INSIDE!!!

You can't be sure of that, just like how we can't be sure that they do care about the people they selling to. Base all of that ^^^^ on presumptions and you have a very weak argument... But i agree that EA games are fickle, but that doesn't mean that other producers don't care. You're not convincing anyone without any evidence, which, unfortunatly doesn't exist...

Then why is someone in this comminty complaining about so many cheaters/hackers? Heh? Nintendo is focused on stopping piracy on their systems at the moment and not stoppng hackers on their games! So how i haven't got any proof?!??!

Nope, Piracy is a crime... Piracy is unfair to the gamers that are honest to nintendo because they having to wait for the games while Pirates (Y'arr :P) don't. Cheaters and hackers may be annoying, but its not that big a problem and its not illegal either, they have their own priorities and no matter what they decide to focus on someone is gonna complain that there is a bigger problem they are ignoring. But its all about viewpoint; the gamer feels underappreciated because they can find problems with their games (Cheaters in this example) and so they choose to ignore the fact that:

... If Nintendo doesn't protect themselves from piracy, they lose money, which means they can't use that money to make games because they can't pay for employee jobs, and guess what that means? That means, that the CONSUMER cannot buy their products and ENJOY using them...

Perhaps in hindsight, it looks like Nintendo don't care, but try thinking about what would happen if they didn't protect themselves. You can say they only care about money, but if they didn't care about money, then the consumer would suffer...

theres not point in protecting yourself from piracy, it only encourges them, infact, games that have no pirate protection have not been as pirated due to theres nothing to crack or hack, so then the crackers can't boast about his l33t skills or hacking skills! So its pretty much a waste of time or money, unless the game is really worth it!!!!

I seen once on a website about an article about one game not HAVING ANY PIRATE PROTECTION AND STILL GETTING A NICE LOAD OF CASH, anyway i think Nintendo cares the most about their customusters, Value also aswell do, but EA games Sod them! Anyway, nobody is gonna change my opinion, unless it really does! XD

I know what this is, people are using Action Replay on Wi-fi games. I don't use one, but my brother does. And he'll go online for Action Replay codes. He looked for MKDS codes and he says people are using AR online. I should know, I've had Mario Kart players do this to me before, so I quit playing Mario Kart online.

I would say that Nintendo has weak online games and support for them. MKW is the only one I really play now online and luckily there aren't many cheaters racing... yet. Preventing cheaters and hackers would be too much for Nintendo so I don't really think they give a crap.

I've yet to run into anyone using a hack other than the offline courses.

I'm a snaker, however.

But snaking isn't hacking.
