Its news to me! Also it says at least 32 tracks, so there could be more. the only bad part is that snaking is back (unless this information is false)

I hope they put in something that lets them keep track of who snakes or not and try to match them together. I highly doubt they'll do anything of the sort, but it would be nice to dream...

if they had custom games online instead of random matchmaking they could give you an option to turn mini turbo's when u host a game.

but after seeing ssbb online scheme i really doubt it.

@alex: :D

I clicked on the link at the end of teh article (which I did not do before  ) and it also says:

controls can be compared to Excite Truck

is that good? I never got to excited truck :?

Ok... so I remember the "sliding" from MK64 (pretty cool to speed at the curve) but what is the snaking thing?? was that the boost you did with both players at the GC version??

chang_1910

Excite Truck was controlled by titling the Wii Remote sideways to change the direction you're going. Mario Kart will be similar to that because of the Wii Wheel.

As for the snaking, yeah it's the thing in the GC and DS versions.

I for one am interested in HOW one snakes. I don't see it being possible if you have to tilt the remote far left/right, as it's not as easy as wobbling a joystick/control pad. Unless of course it's possible by twitching the remote like you're having a seizure, but still it seems more difficult due to the way MK Wii is controlled.

And if is bad, could you just play without using it?? like agree or something..

sorry, but I do not get the fuse of why is this bad... would someone remind me or explain it :D Thx

maybe it could be done pushing buttons...

you just need one buttong to throw the items... so maybe the others, used/timed correctely could make you snake... like 1 and 2.. or something like that...

yes random! the game will probably use the same online functions as the ds version except this time they'll probably take out the part were you can draw on your kart and they'll also probably take out names online.

and if u dont know how to snake i suggest u learn, when this game comes out! otherwise you'll just get destroyed online.

"snaking" isn't back... the powerslide boost thing is back which has been in all Mario Karts except the original. It takes a bit of practice and is worth it in the end... snaking is bad though I admit I've been playing a lot of Mario Kart 64 lately and I want the Wii version to allow those who lose in battle mode to become bomb-ombs. I also hope they allow for standard no-motion driving... I know it's the Wii, but sometimes I just wanna chill while I play games

If I recall correctly... "snaking" was impossible to do in any version but the DS version. The roads were too narrow in DD and the karts strayed more left and right than in the DS version. The whole technique was meant to go around corners without losing your top speed and unfortunately, people abused it in MKDS and used the technique on straight paths. And if you notice, only the light weight karts could do this efficiently so I doubt 'snaking' will be a problem.

Remember some of the '32' tracks could be for Battle Mode?
You could have 20 game tracks and 12 battle tracks, or some only for online play?
I hope they bring back Moo Moo Farm and Koopa Troopa Beach coz I loved them!
I never played MK on any other platform so whats this snaking mean? I used to do the sliding thing when you hold L or R on MK64, is it like that?

Snaking is when you use the little boosts from your power slides all during the level, so your zig zaggin back and forth and you get boosts which makes you go faster. Its bad because some people dont know how to snake, which means people who do it autpmatically win. Im fine with using the boosts around corners (i do that) but not on the straight aways.

Also if your friends are over you could agree not to use it but if your online and there is no form of communication, that means there will be no way to agree not to snake.

" In terms of drivers, two which have been confirmed include Baby Peach and Boo.

There will be 16 new courses to race on, as well as 16 old courses which should give great variety to the game.

There will also be different vehicles for each and every single driver. "

Did Mario Kart DS had 32 courses as well: 16 new courses and 16 so-called "retro" courses from previous Mario Kart games?

I am not sure you are quite understanding snaking. Snaking is when you are on a straight-a-way and you use the miniboost you get while drifting aound a corner. If you drift properly around a corner you can get a boost when you come out of the drift. That is okay. But people that snake will use that constantly (even when you would be going straight) to keep getting those speed boosts thus making them go faster on the straight parts than should be possible.

Ah damn it! Why is snaking still in Mario Kart? It may be a good method, but that's definitely cheap if you do that every game without playing fair, especially online.

their should definetly be an option to turn mini turbos off when hosting an online match!

thats of couse saying they will let you host matches, so far it looks like random match making garbage.

After Mario Kart DS this was expected. And I'm glad snaking is back, it's a vital technique that should remain in the game. Snaking is no different then wave dashing in SSB. It's there so use it, you need to know how to snake to be the best. If you can't snake either learn how to or get out of the race.

how many did mario kart DS have? I think it was 32, it was an incredible ammount. I don't think Nintendo wuld back down and offer less after its set that precedent, so I believe it-- I expect it. I really don't care about Baby Peach, though, but I guess Boo's sorta cool

Well I don't think snaking will be that easy this time as you have to move the wiimote from side to side to do it and that will tire people a lot, heck even on a gamepad it was tiring.

I'm not surprised they're keeping the drift boosts for two reasons:

1. They were in the two previous games, so why take it out.

2. It will probably be a lot harder to snake using the wii remote for turning.

Ok.. so the only thing that i`m not liking so far... the freaking random online stuff... sorry N but that is just silly, why all the FC if we can not use it when it matters *crosses fingers for the randomness be false*
