I look and they don't look bad. I also find it extremely funny that NINTENDO people are complaining about graphics. When all that was said about the Wii was "Its not the graphics its the gameplay that counts", and now they are whining because it doesn't have perfect visuals.
MArio Kart is always be about fun nearly all Ninetndo games always about fun. I dont remeber Mario Kart 64 for its graphics i remeber it because the fun me and my friends when we played it. I think people are expecting way to much from gameslolag
exactly, if the game isn't perfect on one thing it is automatically dismissed as "horrible" or unplayable, granted there are some games like this but, i think we put our expectations too high.

why doesn't it look like galaxy or metroid what prevents them from making them look a little better than double dash?

that has nothing to do with it. the wii is capable of pushing better visuals than what it's showing us with mario kart wii. i see no reason for them to look the way they are

When I played Metriod, I stared at the screen for 10 seconds whenever I went into a new area. I'm guessing doing that for a racing game isnt that good.

what does it matter what type of game it is? because it's a different genre, let's throw graphics out of the window? i'm not asking for hd graphics here. decent looking or somewhat better looking graphics than it's predecessor will do. because, wii IS stronger than GC no?
i see your point and i agree that they should increase the graphics, i just find it ironic Wii lovers complaining about graphics. My point is the graphics aren't bad so if they released it now, i would be fine. The graphics aren't horrible, yet everyone is complaining about them like they are.
I think it's weird that people are actually complaining about a Mario Kart game (or a game that's yet to be released), but it doesn't surprise me. People find reasons to complain about everything. Someone finds a cure to cancer and someone is going to complain about it.
"I have to inject it HOW many times a day? That's bullsh@t!"

i agree with that 100%

My post wasnt based on genre, I was stating that why make the graphics good when I wouldnt have time to appreciate them. And compared to other wii games... these graphics are considered "decent"
When I saw the screenshots on IGN, and one on Wikipedia, I thought the graphics looked pretty good actually. I don't see anything that will really be wrong with it. And it'll come with a wheel. And online battle mode. I am definitely getting this one.
On a side note...100 posts. Yeah.
I don't see how the graphics are so bad to complain about.
I'd rather see magnificent controls than magnificent graphics.
SHACKR
Exactly! More worried about the controls than the graphics. I don't want it to be like, "Oh, well I can't control my kart at all, but at least it looks pretty". It would be Lair all over again!

yeah, because astonishing graphics aren't worth it if the playability is crap
its funny how some people think gameplay is more important than graphics. they both are equally important. if you have a game with awesome gameplay and your saying graphics don't matter, thats just stupid. thats like saying "hmmm well the gameplay is all that matters and i'd even be willing to settle for pixelated 2D graphics!" graphics adds to gameplay and makes it even better. its like you people don't want nintendo to improve. improving is good. and complaining can make that happen. If enough people complain about something and it becomes a problem for nintendo, then they will fix it. learn to put up with complaints because you can never ever stop them no matter what.Jayesler12
Gameplay should always, ALWAYS, come before graphics. I don't want my games to look like utter crap, of course, but I don't want some extra "next gen" sheen to get in the way of the fun. If it looks great and plays great, awesome, but if they have to scale down the graphics slightly to hit that 60 frames per second or whatever fps they're aiming for, then I'm all for it. The golden rule when it comes to graphics: make it as good looking as possible while keeping a steady framerate. Since Mario Kart Wii will probably do that, I don't see why everyone's complaining.
Well the game still has plenty of time before actually releasing and the graphics don't look bad at this point.

Exactly Gamplay>Graphics. Good graphics are nice but it's the gameplay that really counts. Look at Lair wonderful graphics and it sucked. Just as long as the graphics a good I'm happy. Also, I think the fact that your icon is Master Cheif says something....

Well, that would make some sense. Half of the tracks are upgraded ones from the older Mario Kart games from the SNES, N64, GC and DS so they won't necessarily look that good. I Personally think the game looks pretty good, especially the new courses and character animations.

Gameplay IS more important than graphics, you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. if it were not true that gameplay trumped graphics people wouldn't still be having fun with games like Tetris or Carcossone on Xbox Live Arcade.

But then again no one would spend $50 on those games. There not even really games but more of like mini games to burn time. Also Jayesler12 said both are important. Both are important but graphics tend to show how much time and hard work the developer has really spent into makeing his or her game. (not counting Lair). BRAW looks great and you can really tell the developer has upped the graphics and not just the gameplay and this shows that he has put a lot of time into his game.
