both games we're directed by two different teams.
I guess sakurai didn't want a deep online experience. which boggles my mind honestly.

Hopefully the next smash will have the great online MK Wii has.
MK Wiis online is amazing.
Oh well...SSBB is still a great game.

If any Smash Bros. should have Great online play, it should have been this one...
Yeah, because for online to be worth it, we need to hear all the racist, homophobic, stupid little twelve year olds mouthing off in a microphone....[QUOTE="Microsoft1234"]um all the online on wii is pretty bad, u can't even voice chat its a jokeozzsoad
id rather play with friends and have chat than not have it at all, and even so its called turning off ur mic

Amen to that, brother.
I'm starting to get a little angry with Nintendo... They seem to be going more for the profits now than just making the best game that can be made. They KNOW that everyone will buy their sequels (including me) if they add online and a few features. If they had kept MK and SSBB a couple more months they could have improved them a lot more. SSBB needed help with online, and MK with the core game.
And don't call me a 360/PS3 fanboy or whatever... All I own are Nintendo systems anyway (because, well, I've come to love all the things they have made--it just angers me that these two games could have been so much better).
Oh, and as for the voice chat thing... MK Wii does not need it. There is hardly any strategy or team-playing involved, so you'd just end up with a bunch of "o dam i got u" or "crap **** **** whyyyy?" and all that crap.
um all the online on wii is pretty bad, u can't even voice chat its a jokeMicrosoft1234
If you want to talk to your friends so bad, use the phone. If you know, that not a joke.

lol this is the funniest thread I've made!! :P I agree that voice chat would be cheezy, but doesn't mario kart online have message bubbles like brawl or something? or atleast for friend code battles?
um all the online on wii is pretty bad, u can't even voice chat its a jokeMicrosoft1234
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. Every time I voice my displeasure with the Wii's poor on-line quality, fan boys flame me in droves.

lol tru dat want reference proof that happens go to page one lawl
Ok so I'm sure we all noticed that brawl can get terrible lag online. Even when I brawl with my friends who live 10 minutes away, I get lag a few times. Especially when I do a "Battle With Anyone" brawl, the game lags so badly that it freezes for about 10 seconds... And this happens every second!! It got very annoying and it seemed a lot better to just play with computer players. On the other hand, Mario Kart Wii has just about flawless online and hasn't lagged once for me. This is why I enjoy Mario Kart Wii online so much more. But the question is... Why does Brawl have such terrible online, and Mario Kart Wii doesn't??:?amirbrandon
Now I really want Mario Kart Wii...I don't even bother with brawl online, its just too laggy and spikey to play. Maybe Mario kart is better because it has experience onlinew with the Ds...i don't know just an idea.
MK Wii was designed with Wi-fi in mind from the start...
SSBB it was added in after the game had already started development, plus they focused more on the single player and local multiplayer and not enough on the online.

Ok so SSBB isn't a 9.5 game now, just because online a feature that's really just iceing on the cake isn't perfect?
Mario Kart Wii isn't an 8.5 game because the core game just isn't as good as MKDS...
Yep Nintendo isn't making games worth buying anymore... I mean SSBB isn't better then Melee, and Mario Kart Wii isn't better then MK64 or DD...
lol @ everyone making a big deal over voice chat. There is honestly no reason at all to have it in mario kart or SSBB. If you think halo 3's 5 year olds were anoying then just think about haw many would be in mario kart haha i would never play online if i had to listen to 11 little kids that never STFU. Scythes777
lol really my thread is hot for the wrong reason :P

1. There's no room on this site for name calling buddy. 2. I'm not saying I wouldn't want voice chat. I just don't care for it. It is totally unnecessary and the game is just as fun for me without it. Wether it gets voice chat or not I don't care! If you want voice chat then go play your 360 so we won't have to listen to complain.[QUOTE="ozzsoad"]Yeah, because for online to be worth it, we need to hear all the racist, homophobic, stupid little twelve year olds mouthing off in a microphone....[QUOTE="Microsoft1234"]um all the online on wii is pretty bad, u can't even voice chat its a jokeMicrosoft1234

ummmmmm, the what's the point?from my experience with brawl, is that well...if your internet sucks naturally it'll lag.
but if your opponets sucks too it'll also lag, so if you're in a big match it's probably gonna lag slightly,
people need to get better internet. cause i played with my friend online and it hardly lagged at all.
mk is probably better cause it doesn't really use that p2p stuff, it probably uses a server that helps out with the slower connections. and if you have a good connection you won't lag at all. and i hate voice chat because if someone is bugging you you have to go through the trouble of muting them cause all turning off your mic doesn't do jack **** if you don't wanna hear anybody.

I agree which is why if they do go along with it, they have to use a MUTE button so I don't have to hear some little kid using such nasty words.
I'm sort of disappointed in the online play with Brawl Wifi I was like this sort of sucks.
um all the online on wii is pretty bad, u can't even voice chat its a jokeMicrosoft1234
Actually, I think Nintendo is starting to offer some of the best online. Games like Mario Kart Wii and MoHH2 have incredible online that I will be playing for months. They are also free to play online. Brawl's online is fun, when you can find someone. Also, Mario Strikers had fun online. I think Nintendo has proved that online is important to them and they can compete with anyone. Just wait till WiiWare comes out.
MKW can predict what move you're going to do because of the nature of the game. Brawl runs too fast to build a program that can predict anything. That's why fighting games historically are not the best at online.
That being said, I haven't had too many problems with my Brawl online lately. What it seems to do is lag a bit when the first match starts, but as long as you keep fighting the same 3 people the process smooths itself out.

Extremely common in internet forums is over exaggeration. If there was a standout problem and one point its gonna stick with people forever. Brawl is pretty much fun online, you just have a good connection, if people are complaining they never get a lag free game, GUESS WHAT? You have a bad connection!
One of the first things I noticed while playing Mario Kart WiFi was that there was NO SIGN of lag whatsover. Brawl has been lagging alot lately, I thought it was just me, but apparently not.
I love MKWii sooooo much. Thank you Nintendo.

I guess so. That is strange, and I thought I had a bad connection.
