Gamespot says that the tracks are old or something so it got a lower rating. I have never played Mario Kart so do you think this one would be a good start? Would it be considered as 9.0 plus rated game?

well it would be good if you have never played a mario kart game before cause half the tracks are from past games so everything will be new to you. but no its not a 9+ its a 8.0-8.5 game.

I actually reviewed this game, and gave it a 9.5.

It's an awesome game, and it's highly addictive. The online mode is just amazing, and it's just plain fun. ;)

Bad things about mario kart wii:

-Items are unbalanced

-Only 16 new courses, and some old are kind of boring:(

-...And the graphics aren't the best. But they are really good.

It's an awesome game, definitely worth checking out at leaste.

I wouldn't rate this game above an 8.5, but I will say that, without a doubt, Mario Kart Wii is the most fun I've had on the Wii thus far (Yes, more fun than Brawl. Yes, more fun than Galaxy, Wii Sports, or any other Wii game).

...but that's only the online portion. Offline? Not great...unless you always have 4 people who want to come over and play. Otherwise, offline is pretty drab.

I'd say that if you have an internet connection, definitely pick this game up. Totally worth it.
