This may seem like a stupid question but has anyone heard of an announcement for this yet or even any speak of it yet because I want to get it for my Wii?

There has been no announcement as of yet. But it's going to happen eventually... Hopefully not until Wii online is up and running smoothly.

I hope we hear something from Nintendo soon about this. Would be awesome to steer with the nunchuck and throw things at people with the wiimote..

I like playing Mario Kart and have liked all of them. It's not decided and hopefully they will announce it and take time and make it the best Mario Kart ever.

Oh don't worry about that, I'll be prepared! I thought I was good at Mario Kart DS until I first took it online lol.

A Mario Kart would be a sweet addition to the Wii, but I havent heard any news of it yet. You know it's coming sooner or later though.
