I'm considering buying this, because I've played Mario Party 5&6 on the Gamecube, and I both loved them. I usually played them together with my girlfriend, and we had lots of fun with them. However, Mario Party 8 seems to have gotten some very poor reviews, and some sites say it's the worst Mario Party game ever. Is this game worth buying, or is it really a worse game compared to the other ones?
No! Do NOT BUY THE GAME! All of the reviewers are correct with this one, it is the worst game I have ever played. There are only 40-something minigames and all of them are terrible. This game is a disgrace to the Mario Party series and should not be bought by anyone. It would be more beneficial to spend your money on bananas because at least they have some use and replay value (think of all the fun you could have with the banana peel!). So in summary, DON'T BUY THE GAME.

Yeah when I first bought it was fun with some friends but after about an hour I just regret buying it. I still have but its one of those games a almost never play only when a guest or something comes over and wants to play. So DONT GET IT WASTE OF MONEY.
It is mario party....it is what it is which means you only look at reviews to see if the game explodes or something. personally, i like the game granted i don't play it like every month. Oddly enough I am suprised there is no Mario Party 9 by now
My cousin has Mario Party 8 and we had a lot of fun with it. I can see how it would be boring when playing by yourself though. I found the mini games to be really fun for the most part and the boards were cool too. But it seemed pretty similar to other mario party games. I haven't really played them though.
