for Australia.....
I got my copy at JB Hi-fi (in Ringwood, for those Victorians out there) and it was onspecial for $69AU. Bargain, much?
So yeah, thanks for the responces guys. I got my copy and been playing it for a few hours and am loving it. However it takes a couple of hours to get into the swing of things, and that's just the people who've played the original. Why? This game is slower than the original. At first I was uneasy, then I understood. It's all about character balancing and diversity. The side kicks vary A LOT from each other, unlike the original. What's more is that the environmental hazards catch you off guard on more than one occassion. The online play rocks my socks off, as it's a great first effort for Nintendo. A couple of my matches suffered from no lag whatsoever. I hope this is a sign of better things to come.
So give the game a day to settle into it. The only downfalls I'm hindered by is Strikers Cup mode where you can't indivdually choose a team for each cup - you HAVE to stick with the same team for the entire tournament which sucks. And also, the replays (from when you get goals) aren't as good as in the orgiinal. The giant score board partially blocks any time you view a recent replay, and that's annoying. And then you've got the learning/adjusting curve which can take up to day to feel totally comfortable with.
The controls are suprisingly good. Although I see myself waving the controller like crap and mashing buttons when I loose sight of what's going on, the controls work just as well as the GC controls, and in some ways, better. Charging shots, evading, and faking shots at goal are easier and feel more comfortable to perform than on the GC controller.
There's a suprsingly good amount of humour in the game, and quite a lot of the game has a nice sense of polish on it. I think it's the smell of a 2nd-cycle title.
