It seems mario is going to dominate the Wii because of upcoming games like:

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Mario strikers Charged

Mario Party 8

Super Paper Mario

Super Mario Galaxy

I wouldent be suprised if they made a another Mario kart.

I think he means that, Mario Kart is confirmed for the Nintendo Wii. How about you do some research, before posting. I know your level one, and it might sound a little harsh, but it's true.

...You do realize that Mario has LONG been Nintendo's #1 mascot, right? Thus there is a long held tradition of numerous mario themed titles being released for Nintendo consoles.

Actually, that's not true. Before Mario and Donkey Kong, Nintendo had:

-Game and Watch

-Loads and loads of playing cards from the late 1800's/early 1900's.

Cheak your Nintendo history.

Mario has always been Nintendo's mascot, sure they did stuff before but they never had a "national brand" before Mario.

He'll be the flagship character for every single Nintendo console

I would kick mario in the nuts! He lost his edge when he went 3D for me. Jon_Sly

If Mario were a real person, he'd be able to jump up and stomp on you, or whap you with his cape, or throw fireballs at you, or smash you flat with a hammer.  I doubt you could ever get close enough to kick him in the nuts.

Who cares. That doesn't stop the fact that this topic is a waste. *Wonders if Mickey Mouse is still the biggest Disney Mascot?*

I don't know, Link isn't that popular in the mainstream.

Everyone knows Mario while most of the people think the lead character is Zelda because they don't know his real name is Link

I know that, but I think Link's games are more consistant at being great, while Mario's really aren' (He is still awesome, don't get me wrong).

If it doesn't use the remote, it should at least use the Classic Controller, I feel using the GC controller for Wii games would be a step backwards.  Anyway, Mario Kart for Wii should use the remote.  There's nothing wrong with using the remote for steering, if it's done right.  It can be done right, Warioware had some steering minigames and they worked perfectly.

mmmmm wouldn;t using the classic controoller be a bigger step backwords?LOL Btw i believe they have the chance to do some much needed innovation on the franchise with the wiimote and i am sure they won;t pass on this opportunity. I think it would be fnu if they used the nunchack for kart and the wiimote tothrow weapons and punches to close karts.

How could using the classic controller be a bigger step backwards than using the GC controller?  The classic controller is new, the GC controller is old.

The one monkey ball game that actually worked well was the stupid race game, and it made me yearn for mario kart. Same with excite truck, the racing set up for the wii is pretty good, and I'd love to see a similar config in Mario Kart, despite what most ppl think, the game will be perfect with the Wiimote, and only the wiimote, no nunchuck attachment. d-pad for the slide, 1 button for gas, 2 for break, B or A for throw item, what more do you need?

It may look like the SNES controller, but it's got two analog sticks, two extra shoulder buttons, and it's wireless, how is that old?  And you can leave out the 'mmmmm'.  You don't need to type out that you're thinking.  If you're carving a message and you die you don't carve out "Arrrrgggghhhh".
