mario vs. donkey kong. vs. pokemon diamond

I need help deciding between these two games. I loved both games on the gameboy advance (mario vs. donkey and pokemon saphire). I'm a really big fan of puzzle games, but I also want a game that will last until zelda comes out.

if you can tell me pros and cons of each game i'd be great!

btw. I will probably get both games down the road..... but i can't decide for one TODAY
