Mario's New Red DSi XL Coming To America

That very snappy red DSi XL that was minted for Super Mario Bros' 25th birthday? It looks like it's coming to the US market, courtesy of a listing on Walmart's website.

As you can see, it appears to be the same red unit offered in Japan, right down to the anniversary graphics on the front. The American version includes three pre-installed DSiWare games (2x Brain Age titles and Photo Click) along with Mario Kart DS. Which is quite the deal.

Walmart's bundle is throwing in some other games too, but even if you grab the vanilla pack, Mario Kart is just fine as a starter game.

No word on a release date yet (it's listed as "out of stock"), but we've contacted Nintendo for official confirmation and details, and will update if we hear back.

I hope they make some themed 3DS because I was kinda bummed, I waited awhile to get my dsi and they never made a themed one. I'm happy with my white one tho. I think dsxl is too big and rounded looking. I like the thinner sharper edged shape of the DSi. So, even tho that mario print is pretty sweet, I have my DSi already and am waiting for 3DS to come out. I like the style they designed this one in compared to the ds lite mario edition. I had that one and it just had a white M on the bottom right corner. Not very creative :P

Hmm... Perhaps I'll pick it up.

Kewl, now lets see some Mario themed Wii's please. Since this would be better if it was for the 3DS as personally I believe it would be wiser saving up for that rather than buying something that I am sure you are planning on collecting that you would only end up selling a few months later because you want the 3DS.

I hope this suggests that the Mario All-Stars Anniversary box set for Wii will be making its way over here as well.

^ more important than that, most of us already have a DS, and it would be pointless to get one of those if you are like me and have a DS, and plan on getting a 3DS. lizzie1238

I had a DS Lite with a broken hinge (played fine but the top screen wouldn't lock :( ) so I bought a DSi last week when I got payed, had I known about this I would have just saved until my next check and got this bundle. I am happy with my DSi though since I can play games with the top screen in the correct postion :)
