Simple topic I'd like to get some talking about.

Do you think we're ever going to see the Mega Man franchise brought to the Wii?

At the Rockman 20th Anniversary event, Inafune said that he's really interested in making a Mega Man game on the Wii.

So yes, it's pretty much going to happen.

Would you want it to be in the vein of the original Mega Man or would you want it refurbished with a different feel?

A new meg man would be awesome as long as they don't go 1st person arm canon view like Metroid but with mega man universe creatures, nothing wroing with 3D but make it unique, or even a 2 1/2D game. Either way i'd like to see Mega man come back to the main consoles not just the handhelds.

I would like a 2D sidescroller Megaman with 3D graphics where you control Megaman with the nunchuck stick and aim where you shoot with the wiimote. Shoot would be A to jump, B to shoot, Z to slide, C to super attack whatever, control pad to change forms. And add some co-op while we are at it. lol

We need a new proper Megaman game, none of the X rubbish. Or maybe Megaman Powered up 2? Or Megaman Zero?

I wish we could... but Capcom seems elsewhere. As of right now I would settle with some Mega Man X for the VC. I don't know why we haven't got a 3D platforming Mega Man yet. Maybe Capcom thinks it would play too much like Metroid? Why do you think it hasn't happened yet?

I would love any of the megaman battle network series, on say the vc, but the X series was ok, Legends was dull and please for all that is holy don't turn megaman into an fps. leave that to metroid. or some sort of online mutiplayer similar to the battle network series.

Just go to site like these the signs are all pointing at a megaman on Wii.

I am sorry but they have done everything they can with 2d megaman

they need a 3rd person view of megaman. OH NOES, yes I said it. No Megaman Legends is not the answer. they need a whole new series that lets you fight enemies in full 3d. It wasnt really possible on consoles until wii came around. The free aim of megaman with the wiimote controls is exactly ehat he needs if you wants to aim, shoot and dodge and jump real fast. Obviously there needs to be a DS connection to the game. The RPG elements will be there as always.

They could really breathe new life into a dying franchise.

Since the wii is basically filled with remakes, how about one of the mega man legends games? Though, it'd more of a 3rd person shooter/adventure than anything. Not a proper megaman game, but still a fun one I believe.

As long as they stay away from this new mega man battlenetwork card crap, I don't think theres going to be a huge issue on whatever megaman game they make.

WHY!!!!

Why do Wii fans complain about wiimakes but then at the same time ask for them? Paradoxical

Anyway Megaman in 3d would have a third person view and some third person shooting elements but it would still be a megaman game if they do it right. Just imagine fighting enemies in 2d but with more strategy, dodging, and a deeper incorporation of the rpg into megamn.

I'd like to see a megaman in 3rd person view, with lock on capabilities and realistic graphics.. so prolly a 360 game.. but really it would work best on the wii with the remotes and all. instead of side scrolling, can have full 3d range, not an RPG either, cause old megaman was an action game. Bring back the weapons caches and boss bvattles should be cinematic. ... they have so much potential for it, but they would probably make it all stupid like the last bunch.

Anyone who honestly thinks a full 3D Megaman game would be a good idea has clearly never played Megaman X7.

I mean, Legends was alright for the time but I honestly think it was a fluke.

We need a 2D Megaman game. Proper Megaman. With Protoman and Bass. Dr. Wily and Dr. Light. ROLL!

To all those that cry, "No leave mega man in 2D where it belongs!" I wish to point out history. The same thing was said about Metroid. And thank goodness the devs didn't listen to us.

The difference is Megaman has been in 3D before, Metroid hadn't.

We know from experience that a 3D Megaman game = Mediocre at best.

Most wii remakes so far have been from the ps2 or psp, that more so ports. But there are some wii remakes, that truely could be considered remakes like knights, have been doing pretty good so far. Look at re4. It did pretty good on the wii port, and I enjoyed it more than the gamecube one.

Mega Man 9, Mega Man X9, or Mega Man Legends 3 would make me quite giddy... provided 9 or X9 were side scrollers and Legends 3 looked like it had real effort behind it.

Megaman in 3D would be okay. They have MUCH potential with a 3D game, but since they don't do 3D games often, they aren't good at it. Their best was Megaman 64, that's it. If they made one for the Wii, I'd think probably classic Megaman, improved graphics and side scrolling. That'd be a good idea. I mean, they really never did wrap up the end of the classic series so a new game would easily be good for that series. And aiming would be good too. Like in Bust-A-Move Bash!(yes i have that game, it's actually good)they have aiming that looks like a shooter gun thing that'd be perfect for Megaman. Heck, I could probably whip up a pic of what I'm thinking of and describing if I felt like it. But I'm lazy.

But yeah, that'd be good...

I'd like to see somethine "new" for the series besides the 2d. I'd personally love a 3rd person action adventure. Mega Man's slide and jumps could translate well to that. I think they need to work on a new story and maybe flesh it out a bit. I mean i know thats not really what mega man is about, but i think if they revamped (or restarted) the series, kept the elements of platforming and jumping while sticking with the insane bosses and weapon upgrades they could pull off a great game. I'd like the control method of RE4, where you control movement with the nunchuck analog and moving it side to side to roll, and pointing with the wii remote to aim, It seems like it would be perfect....course there's always Megaman 64 which pretty much destroys everything i've just said.

3d Mega Man may not have worked eariler, but the Wii could definitely spice it up.

I would worry about the gameplay of the MegaMan series in 3D. I think the graphics would be a definite plus, even on the Wii, but the jumping and manuvering around was part of the fun of playing. I think that may be hard to capture. Then again if done well, Mega Man would be a blast on the Wii.

Maybe a Gears of War style camera angle and point of view when in fire fights or boss battles, but for platforming a more zelda type camera angle would be nice for a megaman game. FPS would be too much in vein of the Prime trilogy.
