Simple topic I'd like to get some talking about.
Do you think we're ever going to see the Mega Man franchise brought to the Wii?

At the Rockman 20th Anniversary event, Inafune said that he's really interested in making a Mega Man game on the Wii.
So yes, it's pretty much going to happen.

Would you want it to be in the vein of the original Mega Man or would you want it refurbished with a different feel?

I have no idea. I've only ever played 2 Mega Man games.
We need a new proper Megaman game, none of the X rubbish. Or maybe Megaman Powered up 2? Or Megaman Zero?
I would love any of the megaman battle network series, on say the vc, but the X series was ok, Legends was dull and please for all that is holy don't turn megaman into an fps. leave that to metroid. or some sort of online mutiplayer similar to the battle network series.

Just go to site like these the signs are all pointing at a megaman on Wii.
I am sorry but they have done everything they can with 2d megaman
they need a 3rd person view of megaman. OH NOES, yes I said it. No Megaman Legends is not the answer. they need a whole new series that lets you fight enemies in full 3d. It wasnt really possible on consoles until wii came around. The free aim of megaman with the wiimote controls is exactly ehat he needs if you wants to aim, shoot and dodge and jump real fast. Obviously there needs to be a DS connection to the game. The RPG elements will be there as always.
They could really breathe new life into a dying franchise.
Since the wii is basically filled with remakes, how about one of the mega man legends games? Though, it'd more of a 3rd person shooter/adventure than anything. Not a proper megaman game, but still a fun one I believe.
As long as they stay away from this new mega man battlenetwork card crap, I don't think theres going to be a huge issue on whatever megaman game they make.

Why do Wii fans complain about wiimakes but then at the same time ask for them? Paradoxical
Anyway Megaman in 3d would have a third person view and some third person shooting elements but it would still be a megaman game if they do it right. Just imagine fighting enemies in 2d but with more strategy, dodging, and a deeper incorporation of the rpg into megamn.
Anyone who honestly thinks a full 3D Megaman game would be a good idea has clearly never played Megaman X7.
I mean, Legends was alright for the time but I honestly think it was a fluke.
We need a 2D Megaman game. Proper Megaman. With Protoman and Bass. Dr. Wily and Dr. Light. ROLL!
To all those that cry, "No leave mega man in 2D where it belongs!" I wish to point out history. The same thing was said about Metroid. And thank goodness the devs didn't listen to us.raahsnavj
The difference is Megaman has been in 3D before, Metroid hadn't.
We know from experience that a 3D Megaman game = Mediocre at best.

Most wii remakes so far have been from the ps2 or psp, that more so ports. But there are some wii remakes, that truely could be considered remakes like knights, have been doing pretty good so far. Look at re4. It did pretty good on the wii port, and I enjoyed it more than the gamecube one.
Megaman in 3D would be okay. They have MUCH potential with a 3D game, but since they don't do 3D games often, they aren't good at it. Their best was Megaman 64, that's it. If they made one for the Wii, I'd think probably classic Megaman, improved graphics and side scrolling. That'd be a good idea. I mean, they really never did wrap up the end of the classic series so a new game would easily be good for that series. And aiming would be good too. Like in Bust-A-Move Bash!(yes i have that game, it's actually good)they have aiming that looks like a shooter gun thing that'd be perfect for Megaman. Heck, I could probably whip up a pic of what I'm thinking of and describing if I felt like it. But I'm lazy.
But yeah, that'd be good...
3d Mega Man may not have worked eariler, but the Wii could definitely spice it up.
I would worry about the gameplay of the MegaMan series in 3D. I think the graphics would be a definite plus, even on the Wii, but the jumping and manuvering around was part of the fun of playing. I think that may be hard to capture. Then again if done well, Mega Man would be a blast on the Wii.
