anyone who has read my posts knows i'm a huge original megaman fan (the x series, although interesting never did it for me. though i am compelled to give it another chance).
nonetheless, i was honestly hoping that megaman 9 would be in 3d. an open world adventure baring somewhat (but minimal) similarity to megaman legends.
although this will be great, i really wanted the original megaman to have his swan song of a game.. we'll have to wait and see.
i'm definitely mixed.
Inafune said he always wanted to go back to an NES style game he said Megaman 9 was going to be updated but when he found out about Wiiware he decided to go with his dream of making another 8-bit game so they just decided to make it 8-bit he also said it will as hard as the original Megamans it will push what 8-bit graphics can do also the guy making the Music worked on Megaman Z but the Supervisor worked on the original series. They also want to try to make it like it came right after Megaman 1 and 2 in the series instead of coming after Megaman 7 and 8 since many fans see Megaman 2 as the pinnacle in the series. This was all from Nintendo Power interview with him about Megaman 9.
A "huge Mega Man fan" who isn't sure or excited about this game has no business doing anything at anytime, anywhere or with anyone ever. THIS....is what Mega Man really is!
But anyway buddy, really you should be excited for this. Trust me it will be great and you will have another awesome Mega Man game to play :D
i was pretty disappointed on finding out that this game wasnt an X game but i didnt realize it was going to be an 8 bit game. Now im really excited about it. That someone would make and 8 Bit game in the time of 3-D and high end graphics makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Shows that people are still willing to be artist in the money hungry industry webbut
Same here. The screenshots for the game exude this pure quality.
Some games play great (if not overall better) in 2D. And some older games, despite technical limitations, play better than games released by todays standards.
So, if they approach it as a new game and not just quick cash (which, just in concept alone seems that it isn't) this could be one hell of a game.

TacoJelly
Amen.
Now, take this sentence and apply it to Castlevania Judgment as well. See what happens.
