The wii is backwards compatible with gamecube games correct?  Then do i still need to buy a memory card?  The wii has built in memory like the xbox, x360 and ps3.  Say for example I want to pick up windwaker for my wii.  Do I need a memory card to play it?  Or can I save in the wii's built in memory.  It would kinda suck to have to spend around 100 bucks on a GC control, 512mb memory card and the wind waker.

By the way, I saw an 8mn memory card with a 10dollar price tag.  Is 8mb really any good when it comes to saving games?  I think it has around 118 blocks of memory, is each zelda save 1 block?  Is 8mb not worth cheaping out on, should I just spend the 30bucks on a 512 one?

I just switched over from a lifetime of sony to a nintendo wii, and I honestly don't see myself going back to sony.  I don't know too much about this stuff, lol.  Help me out! :D

Cant save Gamecube on hardrive, and 118 blocks will be enough for 3 massive games like animal crossing or harvest moon. You should be fine but its really up to you.

Is that, 1 save per massive game? Because I usually like saving multiple files. I got the zelda colletors disc, MM and OoT both have 4 save slots right? Im gonna use all 8 + windwaker save slots. Is this possible with an 8mb (118 blicks) memory card?

One save slot of Windwaker (ex. 14) will fit the 3 save logs onto that one save slot for the memory card. Does that make sense..

lol the wording in this topic is exetremely confusing. The games you mentioned can easily fit on a 59 block memory card. most games don't take alot of space. If you plan on buying a lot of gamecube games, then you may need a 251 block card. but at least 5-10 games could probably fit on a 59 block. (although it depends.)

5-10 games as in 1 save file per game? Like i said, I usually have multiple save files. Prince of Persia games i had 15-30 save file, KoTOR 1 and 2 i had 90-120 save files per game. Good old xbox and internal memory. So your saying 59 blocks can store 5-10 games, and if an 8mb card has 118 blocks, what're we talkin here. Is it good enough for around 3-5 gamecube games with maybe 5-10 save files on each game? Anyone?

I have 20 GC games, all with multiple save files, and all of them will fit onto a 251 Memory Card.  BTW, most Nintendo-developed games (Mario, Zelda, Metroid) only allow you to have 3 save files per Memory card. Zelda WW, Super Mario SunShine and Metroid Prime 1&2 all have this limitation.

Yeahhh I'm gonna stick with the 10 dollar 118 block card. I don't plan on getting really more than 4 or 5 cube games for my wii. I just want TWW, the zelda collectors disc, ssb melee, and a couple others. Hopefully 118 blocks will be enough. Anyone disagree?

First off people, the Wii does not have a hard drive.  The Wii does have internal memory.  But to save GC game saves you have to have a CG memory card.  Nothing more to discuss.

Im not necessarily going back to gc games i missed out. If that were the case, i would indeed have a long list. But I only have maybe 4 or 5 games i want to go back to. Do you still think I need to go big with the memory card?
