Seeing all the wii-makes that are coming out soon (Godfather, Prince of Persia, Scarface, Driver), is it unreasonable to hope that Konami may bring MGS 2 or MGS 3  to the wii. I never had a PS2, and I have only played parts of both. I loved MGS TS on the cube, and i would love to get the other parts of the story from the other two. What do u guys think?

I definatly would too, but to be honest, that wont happen. I would be happy with just some wii-makes of MGS 2 and 3, however improbable that would be.

i still own both on playstation 2, so i wouldn't really care. but i'd still like to see the first metal gear solid on ds, or at least in some portable form.

It would be interesting to see not only how they would use the Wii, but how they would use the power of the Wii as well.

Its almost 100% out of the equation. One, the graphics would not be there, two, you dont have a standard controller, 3 Nintendo has no...none...not a single real plan for an online system thats really apparent, and 3, prolly the biggest, I dont think they would have a large enough audience on the Wii. They might now due to the sheer sales of the Wii console, but generally, people with the playstations were the most likely to buy the MGS games.

First, the Wii is much more powerful than the PS2, so it could handle the games, including the graphics. Correct me if im wrong, but RE4 was better looking than MGS3. Second, thats the point of the wii isnt it? They would have to adapt the game to fit the controls, and knowing kojima, he could do it. Third, online is being launched with Pokemon Battle revolution, which is in June or July some time (someone back me up with a link). Finally, in 3.5 months, the wii has sold almost half as many consols was 360's in over a year. And its many "hardcore" gamers who would like a MGS game. Plus it would take a while to build the game, that more consoles would be sold.

I realize that it isnt likely, but it isnt for any of the reasons that u gave.

I think it's definatly possible 2 is being ported to the Wii. MGS1 was ported to the cube after all. Also, notice Snake is wearing his MGS2 outfit in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Why would he de wearing it if MGS2 was never on a Nintendo console? I think Nintendo might be hinting that MGS2 will be on the Wii.

Won't happen. Kojima has said he's interested, but that doesn't mean an MGS port. If anything, I hope he creates a 3D Boktai/Lunar Knights game.

I really dont see that happening. But, if you really want to play it, then go buy the PS2..its really cheap now. Kojima said after MGS4 hes not making anymore games for PS, only Nintendo. I dont have a link, so believe me if you want lol. I wish I had a link but I dont have a clue where I saw it, I just remember it was pretty official.

If we get some MG's then that would be great. I've never played them, but seeing as it is the big Sony project right now, switching over to ANY other system would completely ruin sales and help out the Wii a lot. For example, if Nintendo Sold Mario to Microsoft, people would buy 360's because it has both graphics AND Mario right? If we get MG, then people will say, well I might as well get a Wii, because it has (The millions of things that the Wii has that are extremely fun), cheap, and I get all the AAA (Or atleast one of the main ones) that the PS3 has. Seeing as a lot of companies are bailing on Sony loyalty, this is a great possibility. An example is GTA going to 360. Just the fact that we have Solid Snake in SSBB, could be hinting that theres something on the horizion. All we can do is hope.

Yeah, amd after Snakes been in Brawl, of course they're gonna get another MGS game for wii, as nintendo wouldn't put him in brawl for no reason. There'd have to be a MGS project involved.

MGS4 would be a great wii title. think of all the fun you could have on your enemies with the wii remote. and if they slapped a good online co op would be cool.

I've never played a MGS game before but after SSBB I'm sure that I'll be hoping for a MGS game for the Wii.

Then allow me to suggest that you pick up Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes for the Gamecube, play it on your Wii. Of course, if you don't have a Gamecube controller and a memory card, then you will have to buy those extra, but as it stands, MGS is a great, both on Play Station and the port fot the Gamecube.

i totaly agree. why wouldnt they? just to put snake in SSBB is kinda makes you suspicous of a new MGS for the wii. hopefully it will be a rated T version of a mgs game so i can play it. the control sheme could be so cool.

Well I loved the original but hated the next two. Its like they said ''hey now we`ve got dual analogue and pressure sensitive buttons, lets make the controls as bad as possible!''. Otherwise I think the story and production values are great. But the PS2 and XBOX did have those pressure sensitive buttons, the Wii does not so that could be a problem doing some actions. Either way I prefer Splinter Cell, I`d get it for Wii if the controls didn`t look so naff.

It would be cool to see a MGS remake on the wii, but I already own the PS2 versions and I'd like to see an original game done on the wii. It'd be awesome to see Snatcher on the DS, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Would be kinda nice, though MGS 2 is like über overrated. The first MGS for ps1 was amazing but MGS2 isn't that good at all. It tries to be this stealth game but you can't really hide anywhere and the camera angle is just stupid, seeing from above makes makes you run into enemies you would have seen if it was from behind. Splinter Cell is better in everything except for the story.

It won't happen. Here's the following reasons why:

1)  Sony has funded a lot of money into Konami to make sure that the majority of the MGS franchise stick on their consoles.
2)  MGS: TTS was a Silicon Knights-Konami calloberation project. Specifially Silicon Knights worked on the gameplay aspect while Konami developed the cutscenes. Silicon Knights was a second party developer for Nintendo, but after the failure of Eternal Darkness and the lack of immediate sales of the MGS remake, Silicon Knights no longer works exclusively for Nintendo. Since the development team is small, they can only output their resources to one game at a time, and unfortunately they're working on a trilogy for the XBOX 360 called Too Human.
3)  Hideo Kojima was credited only as a producer for the MGS remake, and Shigeru Miyamoto (at least if my memory serves me right, it may be the other way around) asked Kojima if he could do a remake of MGS on the GC in hopes of getting a peice of the franchise back into Nintendo's hands. It was successful, but unfortunately Kojima did not want to lend out any resources because his development team was busy with Snake Eater, so this is where Silicon Knights came into play. Since Silicon Knights developed the gameplay aspect, Kojima was not really involved as a director, and even on Konami's side of the development, he hired a very famous action-movie director to do the cutscenes for him instead.
4)  Hideo Kojima has specifically stated in interviews that he's ready to move on to newer projects and he's exhausted with MGS. This is not to say MGS sequels won't be continously made, but his involvement with it will be minimal after Guns of the Patriots. Kojima showed strong interest in the Wii, but none of it will be MGS-related.

Now I'm not completely ruling out the idea that MGS 2 and 3 won't appear on the Wii, but the odds of it happening isn't really tipped to your favor. If it does happen, Konami and Nintendo will have to get themselves together again and figure out who's going to develop it (I'm sure neither will output a lot of resources into these remakes/ports), if it ends up that Silicon Knights is the only company that has the ability to do it because of certain contract rules that were failed to be mentioned to the public, it may not happen until the contract expires or, if by fate's chance Too Human's trilogy is successfully completed quickly/fails early, it may just happen.
