metroid 3 is a rip off.

I agree with u 100%...Especially about the multiplayer, i mean the wifi is just starting to kick off with strikers and madden, Metroid prime 3 would of been perfect for wifi.

lol @ you.
The graphics look better than most last gen games. No, it could ont have been done on the gamecube. Look how big the enviornments are, you can see stuff from so far away happening (On norion for example), and it has very good bloom and particle effects.
No Mulitplayer for a reason. Prime games ARENT MULTIPLAYER GAMES. Echos had multiplayer for an experiment. Retro was seeing if it would have worked with the prime games, which it didnt. Hunters was then made for your 'multiplayer' exprience (Which sucked, that game was horrible). Not every game needs multiplayer.

What next, Zelda needs 32 Multiplayer death match? no thats never going to happen. How are most things reused from the previous games? The only thing that i noticed were like sounds of the gun.. and some c l a s s i c metroid melodies. Most of the music is original, and great.

Why do people think that Metroid needs multiplayer? How exactly would that work? MP is not a FPS it's and FPA. The only way multiplayer would work is co-op and you would need a whole seperate story line for that.

Sure it's good for last gen, but the wii is the 'next gen' and it fails. A lot of things could have been downgraded to make it work. Don't compare the multiplayer failure of the GC to the Wii. Zelda is understandable since it was one of the first and Zelda is more about 1p action than MP3 which is a shooter. They even reused most of the music.

The multiplayer arguement doesn't really hold up. This game's combat system is not designed for multiplayer. Did you play multi in Echoes? It was AWFUL. With the lock on targeting system, it was just a matter of who could fire the most shots off after you both locked on. Really lame. Do not care that it wasn't included in the game, which has never been about the multiplayer experience. Unlike most, I did enjoy Hunters, though.

yeah you just completely missed the point. Metroid is not about body count, it's about searching, figureing out puzzles and fighting a few huge bosses. That does not translate into death match, as illustrated in MP2

You all only say that because it's not included. If it was, that would be the only game played on Wii online right now. You as well as all wish it were included no matter how crappy.

How many times can you replay this game anyways? Multiplayer gives it good replay and lasting value :/.

Seeing as how you have Link as your avatar, I'm guessing you liked Twilight Princess. Now, would online mulitplayer add replay and lasting value to that game? If you say yes, you may as well leave the boards now.

I'm glad they didn't implement online into MP3, I'd rather they focus all thier attention on creating the best single player experience they could possibly make. I'd rather not wait another year just so I can play online and get bored of it after a week.

That MP3 doesn't have multi-player sucks as much as Half-Life 2 not having minigames. Seriously, Metroid has never been about multi-player. Stop whining about it.

Sure multiplayer would have been fun, and really it looks like it would be set up with the different bounty hunters, deathmatch would be OK, but co-op online would have been alot of fun, considering the large enviroments. Anyways, I like the game alot, the control scheme is really well done, and the graphics are good. A 5/10 is a buncha crap, Gamespot's 8.5 is just right.

That's right, if it was done tastefully it would be cool. Perhaps a field with sword fighting, horse fighting, bow and arrow fighting. It's something. I will probably never play TP again otherwise.

Don't compare the multiplayer failure of the GC to the Wii.

Casiotech

Let's compare it to both MP2 and Hunters then, shall we? Would you like a lackluster FPA multiplayer? Or how about a lackluster FPS multiplayer that doesn't even fit in with the series? Either way, multiplayer doesn't work with Metroid.

Zelda is understandable since it was one of the first and Zelda is more about 1p action

Casiotech

Both Zelda and Metroid are single player adventure games. I don't know when you started gaming, but the original Metroid didn't have multiplayer either.

They even reused most of the music.

Casiotech

That just made my day. I love the old music from Metroid, so I'm glad to hear the themes are back. In fact, I'm going to go find my favorite Metroid songs on a vg music site and listen to it while I'm on GS.

Why do people stay wanting online multiplayer in every single game out there?DAMN METROID IS A FPA! ADVENTURE! No I would hate a damn multiplayer even being a Co-op because one of the metroids trademarks is the isolation feeling that u get. Damn I even played bioshock, an amazing FPS and I'm pretty happy with it even without the multiplayer. Now come this troll and start flaming just to get bashed! Go way, plz, I hate this multiplayer crap. I'm happy with a game that have a deep singleplayer experience. (I love some multiplayer games, but metroid is not for it)

That's right, if it was done tastefully it would be cool. Perhaps a field with sword fighting, horse fighting, bow and arrow fighting. It's something. I will probably never play TP again otherwise.Casiotech

Wow. We need more game designers to think like you.

Why are you complaining about graphics? The Wii has been out for about a year now, and you still haven't noticed that the Wii doesn't have great graphics like the 360 or PS3. Who the f#%k cares about graphics. The first Metroid Prime didn't have online or crap like that but it's still one of the best reviewed games ever. So stop complaining

Ah yes, you're the Wii hater, don't know what you're doing here anyway....

just goes to show you the wii is a POS that doesn't impress anyone. MP3 is as overhyped as the Wii itself. GS should review consoles too, but they don't because there is nothing that can be done once they come out. And usually when any console comes out it's better than the last. I guess nintendo didn't bribe GS enough like nintendo power.

Go GS for your unbias reviews :thumbsup; seeing the video, I wasn't at all impressed like they said it would top Halo3 in quality.

You know there's a part 4 coming. Everything is made all they have to do is slap some elements together. Wouldn't be the first time they have said they wouldn't make another and did.

[QUOTE="skelly7483"]Sure multiplayer would have been fun, and really it looks like it would be set up with the different bounty hunters, deathmatch would be OK, but co-op online would have been alot of fun, considering the large enviroments. Anyways, I like the game alot, the control scheme is really well done, and the graphics are good. A 5/10 is a buncha crap, Gamespot's 8.5 is just right.Casiotech

5/10 by today's standards. By GC or PS2 8.5 for sure.

Based on what? Graphics? Presentation? Replay Value? Just curious.

Of course it could have beenmade to GameCube, Wii is basically a gamecube with innovative controls..

Who REALLY played Metroid for multiplayer?....the good things are in the single player mode and everyone knows it :D

If you want deathmatch go play some computer FPS, maybe it's what you're looking for.....

Based on Multiplayer, Graphics, Replay value, yawn factor. I couldn't play it more than twice before I got sick of it.

You know, there is such a thing as research, and on a side note, you hate the Wii from the top post on this page, I'm pretty sure you don't even have one

The prime series is a triology...A guy who loves metroid should know that :|

I won't even go into the bs he spewed about the Wii.
