Metroid Dread for Wiiware?

Is that possible? Nintendo said that at that time, during August or September, maybe even October of last year, a 2D Metroid was not in development. Maybe it's a 2.5D game, like Sonic Unleashed. Or am I just thinking too much?

yep same here, Metroid Dread is just too good of an opportunity for nintendo to earn money

It was just a rumor, it was never announced.

I'm sure we will see another 2d metroid game, but it may not be called "Dread."

Metroid Dread was officially announced. It was announced along side of Metroid Prime Hunters and they were to be two actual Metroid games on the DS. Unfortunately, after the first announcement, nothing was shown or really talked about again. MPH came out, and still no news of Metroid Dread. Fans have been wondering about MD for so long that some people have questioned whether it was ever real (like people in this thread have).

I agree with the person that said it would end up like Mario 128. Except hopefully, it won't become Pikmin this time, and stay Metroid.
