So, we wondered, could the long-incubating Metroid: Other M, which we learned was conceived in 2006, be the Dread project?

"He's very familiar with that [game,]" Sakamoto's translator said after posing our question to him. "No, this is different."

We pressed for details on what Dread is. Sakamoto's response: "The day may come when Dread hits the stores, but this one is something that's completely different. This is other M."Sakamoto

Maybe it is still alive, but it's possible it's not in development.

I'd really like it if they released a Metroid DS game alongside with The Other M, like how they released Metroid Prime and Fusion together.

I REALLY hope it's another 2d metroid game but on the DS, since they had 2 on the GBA and not one 2D metroid on the DS yet :>

I'd also like a Metroid RTS. but anyway

Metroid Other M seems to play with 2D elements to some enviroemts, seems like a Metroid/Ninja Gaiden mash up

as Kotaku has said "You got your Ninja Gaiden in my Metroid!"
