Does anyone think there is a chance of this happening? Seemed to pay off in spades for RE:4
All they would have to do is change the controls and map them out to be compatible with the wii remote and nunchuck.

No.
I slapped $60 down on these games each when they were new, im not playing $60 again for game's i already own that just have Differnt controls.
I hope they don't, because if they do, ill lose all respect for them. Plus you can just go to a Used Game shop and buy them both for Under $30 now.

bought the first one for $8 when I got Mp3 :)
I think there are a lot of people who never owned a gamecube and as a result never had an opportunity to play these games. Me and several of my friends included.
For me it would be worth it especially with a $29.99 price tag or $49.99 for some sort of combo.
Doubt it, Don't think the Big N is going to restock a game with a new controller scheme when you can go buy it as a Player's Choice right now and popit into your Wii. Let's let Nintendo move forward on growing their third party support, improving the motion controls with their third parties, improving online play, getting Golden Eye on the Virtual Console, and start thinking "After the Wii, what are we gonna do next?"bottomdollar
Hmmmm....interesting....words straight from the mouth of the man himself
"The machine is based on GC," said Miyamoto. "We'll be upgrading the development tools, but GameCube code can be used for the most part as is. In that sense, I believe that it would be good to remake GameCube games for Wii, and that some titles would become better with the change to the Wii remote controller."

Wow, thanks for the quote. Are they gonna really try to resurrect GC games on a regular basis to resell? The kinda concerns me in the fact that the Wii is doing so well with the Virtual Console that they are going to milk the cow dry by remarketing games off the GC just with new controls to make more money. If that is what Mr. Miyamoto is saying, how is that gonna fair with sales? Or reflect on the way Nintendo is coming up with New Ideas? You walk up in the store and the have Metroid Prime (1)with new controls for $49.99 or the GC version for $7.99, is this gonna be the dilemma with this system? Or are they gonna add new levels, co-op, online play, etc.to these prospective re-releases to make them more valuable in the eyes of the beholder? I understand the value of playing C L A S S I C a and that what make the VC unique in that these older systems most people may not own, although you can probably download them on an emulator on your PC. But to market GC games over again on a regular basis, if in fact this is what they are planning to do, seems to be going backwards unless the add more for the buyer.

Good points! Hopefully if they do something like this they will limit the wii-makes to AAA titles and add a substantial amount of extra content.
I still think for games like Metroid Prime it makes sense but I agree that we don't want the big N to be wasting away their resources and talent on rehashing old games.
I mean correct me if I'm wrong but in the entire lifecycle of the gamecube we only saw one Mario game, one Zelda game, one Smash Bros and one Mario Kart! I'm expecting more out of the wii...a lot more.
With the success of the Wii the folks at Nintendo Marketing have HUGE dollar signs in their eyes. Sales of the RE:4 remake are helping this cause either. Expect to see a lot more GC games being Wii-onized in the future.
Yeah, that would maybe be one of the better ports. My brother, who really likes Metroid, is thinking about getting a Wii, and he haven't played MP1 and MP2 much at all. I bet he would be happy if this happened. I'd be happy too, since I probably want to replay MP1 and MP2 at some point, which will be more fun if I can do that with the Wii controls.
The games would have to be cheap in order to get me buy them, though. Resident Evil 4 costs as much as a new game costs here in Sweden, so I didn't see a point in getting that.
If they did re-release them they should bundle both on one disc. They could easily fit considering a Wii disc holds over 3 times the data as GC discs.Rocky32189
Indeed, that'd be nice too. The perfect bundle for someone who has yet to experience the Prime series.

Hahaha Wii-Makes, I like that, thats funny. And you bring out good points as well. RE:4 is a AAA game for the GC and PS2 and many people didn't mind following that path again. Metroid maybe another exception to the rules as well since it is a very good GC title. But to remake Smash Bros. for GC or Mario Kart wouldbe an unwise decision IMO. Both AAA games but nothing that Mario Kart Wii and BrawlCAN'Timprove on. Games like that I would get that "Been there, done that" feeling on.Thats my issue with these Wii-Makes. Let Nintendo learn fromtheir GC counterparts and IMPROVE them on abrand new game, or at least tease us and put them in as a pack in with the new game. (Buy Metroid Prime3 for $49.99 or get the collectors edition for $59.99 thatIncludePrime 1 & 2 and bonus content on disc two)
No.

RE4 was is only $30 on the Wii.It was never $50.So if they release MP 1 &2 in a bundle with Wii controls for $50 it would definitely be worth it.
I traded in MP2 and I gave away MP1 so I'm planning on getting them again. It would be perfect for me.

I say no, and it really is because I wouldn't like to have Wii controls attached, I really don't see them fitting. MP1&2 are so much "adventure" and don't really need the control schema from MP3 (which obviously is great for it's purposes).
So, no, I think I would pass this one.
60 bucks!!! wow where did you buy them at?? well anyways i rather not buy the games again just to play them on the wii i rather just play using the gc controllerNo.

Personally I don't want MP remade until it can be done with really amazing gaphicsthriteenthmonkeagreed, on wii it would be basically a port, with wii controls, they should wait till next gen.
